Founded in 2000 as the first Catholic college in Georgia, Southern Catholic College promotes:
* Christian inspiration in individuals and the community;
* reflection and research on human knowledge in the light of the Catholic faith;
* fidelity to the Christian message in conformity with the magisterium of the church; and,
* institutional commitment to the service of others.
Majors: Business, English, History, Integrated Sciences, Philosophy, Psychology, Theology.
Students
In its third year of operation, the College's total enrollment is 187. Students from 20 states represented, including Alabama, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wyoming. High School Education: 12 percent of students home schooled; 56 percent of students graduated from public schools; 32 percent of students graduated from private schools.
Campus
Over one hundred acres of rolling hills, the campus is in an intimate setting of tranquil beauty overlooking picturesque Spring Lake and is surrounded by the natural Appalachian Mountains landscape. The locale provides the ideal setting for a nurturing and safe residential campus environment.
Need-Based Financial Aid, Merit-Based Financial Aid, and Scholarships
65 percent receive some form of assistance, merit-based scholarship opportunities available. |
