The Art Institute of Atlanta is one of The Art Institutes, with more than 40 education institutions located throughout North America.
The Art Institute of Atlanta is a college of creative professional studies with a solid tradition of excellence in career-focused education. In 1999, The Art Institute celebrated fifty years of commitment to students and their success in their chosen fields. In that same year, the college moved to a new, five-story, 115,000-square-foot facility.
As of fall 2004, about 75 percent of the college's 2,650 students come from Georgia, with the remaining students representing forty-two states and thirty-three countries. About half the student body is under 22, and about half are over 21, adult students returning to college or studying to earn a second degree. The college is proud of the diversity of the student body. The program of study is rigorous and includes art foundation and general education courses, as well as technical courses in each field.
Program offerings are reviewed regularly to stay current with the needs of a rapidly changing business environment. Students may attend day or evening classes in most programs. The Personal Track program offers an opportunity to take classes for credit on a part-time basis.
