College of International Cultural Exchange is a special institute for Sino-foreign cultural exchange and cultivating foreign students.

Taking advantage of an integrated system of disciplines and distinctive features of the University, the College gives priority to such disciplines as aquaculture, marine sciences, food, fishery economics and fishery management, etc., and has established a complete educational system, which covers graduates, postgraduates, doctors , and post doctors. The College adopts flexible teaching modes that students study in other special colleges of the University, or are arranged in different special classes, to meet the needs of foreign students of different levels who want to receive formal education for diplomas, non-formal education and training in Chinese etc.

The University has established a good relationship in academic exchange and cooperation with more than 40colleges,universities and research institutes in the U.S, Japan , Australia, Russia, Korea, and Vietnam, etc., and was awarded" Friendship Medal" by Vietnamese President Chen Deliang in 2002 for the great achievements made in training Vietnamese students. Exploiting the achievements and experience above mentioned and adopting a principle of "Deepening the reform, strengthening the management, assuring the quality and developing steadily", the College will spare no efforts to promote the education for foreign students, and enhance the modernization and internationalization of our countryís higher education, so as to make contribution to cultivating more excellent intellectuals for other countries, and strengthening the friendship, cooperation and exchange among the countries in the world.

Long-term Chinese further education of Shanghai Fisher University

1. Recruiting Object: Foreigners and their children.

2. Entry Requirements:
2.1. In a state of good health, abiding by Chinese law
2.2. Holding the Application form for foreign students wishing to study at Shanghai Fisher University
2.3. Age: 18 --- 60

3. Entering time
Spring Semester: February --- July, deadline of accepting application is 10th Jan.
Autumn Semester: September --- January of next year, deadline of accepting application is 30th June.

4. Curriculums of Chinese Language Programs
Compulsory Courses: Chinese Intensive Reading , Chinese Listening, Chinese Conversation, Chinese Writing, Reading from Chinese Press, Chinese Viewing-Listening-Speaking, Survey of China, etc.
Optional Courses: Commercial Chinese, Tourism Chinese, Standard Pronunciation and Declaiming of Common Spoken Chinese, HSK Training, Shanghai Dialect, Calligraphy , Culinary Art, Sado, Playing the erhu fiddle , Chinese Martial Art , Traditional Opera , Manipulation, etc.(Note: the situation of optional courses depends on the number of students choosing the course and teaching resources)

Linguistic practice and cultural activity:
We will arrange for students to visit some famous Chinese historical cities to carry on the language teaching practice each semester; organize occasional city tours, the cultural entertainment activities and enterprise visits; hold competition of singing Chinese songs, language culture activity, etc.

5. Teaching Objectives
Primary level: Through the study, the student can utilize Chinese to carry on the daily life and preliminary social intercourse activities; the student has the ability to self-study Chinese; the studentís Chinese proficiency may be equivalent of HSK 3-5 level.

Intermediate level: Through the study, the student can utilize Chinese freely to carry on the daily life, the study and general social intercourse activities; the student can communicate in Chinese in certain working situation; the studentís Chinese proficiency may be equivalent of HSK 6 ~ 8 level.

Advanced level: Through the study, the student can utilize Chinese quite appropriately to carry on the high-level study, the social activity and the work, and can carry on the human relations in the certain specialized domain (such as business trade, diplomacy, culture). Chinese proficiency may be equal to the Chinese Chinese proficiency test (HSK) 9 ~ 11 levels.

6. Expenses Standard
Application Fee: 400RMB
Tuition Fee: 9100RMB per person per semester
Accommodation Charges: Apartment (3 persons per house): Each room has a shower (hot water), an air conditioner, a telephone, a fridge, a microwave oven, etc.3000RMB per person per year. (Note: the water and electricity bill must be settled up by students)
Board Expenses: usually about 20RMB/day (3 USD)in the dining room for students. And about 35RMB/day(5 USD)in the Muslim dining room for Muslim students.

Short-term Chinese Further Education of Shanghai Ocean University

1.Recruiting Object: Foreigners and their children.
We will hold Chinese learning programs and further education projects for varied lengths on demand, such as three month (within or no more than it ), one month, two weeks and so on. We adopt various teaching forms, such as adopting students getting into a class in the middle of the course, setting up a class as long as the number of the students is above ten, adopting one-teacher-to-one-student teaching program, etc.

2. Entry Requirements
2.1. In a state of good health, abiding by Chinese law
2.2. Holding the Application form for foreign students wishing to study at Shanghai Ocean University
2.3. Age: 15 --- 60

3. Entering time
Summer-vacation program: July --- August, deadline of accepting application is 20th June.
Winter-vacation program: January --- February, deadline of accepting application is 20th Dec.

4. Curriculums of Chinese Language Programs
Chinese Intensive Reading, Chinese Listening, Chinese Conversation, Survey of China, etc. Besides, we will give two cultural courses from Calligraphy, Culinary Art, Chinese Martial Art, Traditional Opera, Tai Chi, Manipulation, Shanghai Dialect, Chinese song, etc.
We will arrange for Shanghai city tours and the peripheral city tours such as a one-day tour to Zhujiajiao, a one-day tour to Zhouzhuang, a two-day tour to Shuzhou and Wuxi, and a two-day tour to Hangzhou according to the real situation.
We will set up some characteristic classes as Commercial Chinese, Practical Chinese, Learning Shanghai Dialect, Skill of HSK, Chinese Calligraphy, Traditional Chinese Painting, Traditional Chinese Opera, Chinese Folk Music, Chinese Instrument, Chinese Martial Art, Chinese Culinary Art, Chinese Civilization, Contemporary Survey of China, etc.

5. Expenses Standard
Application Fee: 400RMB

Tuition Fee: 2150RMB for a month, 1240RMB for two weeks, 496RMB every week after two weeks, 165RMB every class hour for one-teacher-to-one-student tutorial.
Travel Fee is not included in tuition fee. Reference price: a one-day tour to Zhujiajiao 165RMB, a one-day tour to Zhouzhuang 240RMB, a two-day tour to Shuzhou and Wuxi 560RMB, and a two-day tour to Hangzhou 560RMB.

Accommodation Charges:
Apartment (2-3 persons per house): Each room has a shower (hot water), a telephone, an air conditioner, kitchen, etc. RMB40 per person per day.
Foreign Expertsí Building (standard double rooms): Each room has a shower (hot water), bedclothes, a telephone, a TV set, an air conditioner, etc. RMB200 per house per day.
Foreign Expertsí Building (standard three person rooms): Each room has a shower (hot water), bedclothes, a telephone, a TV set, an air conditioner, etc. RMB180 per house per day.

Board Expenses: usually about 20RMB /day in the dining room for students.And about 35 RMB/day in the Muslim dining room for Muslim students.
