FROM THE BEGINNING
Until 1968 there were in Costa Rica, only the four state universities, wrong by a provision that gave the impression that higher education was one of state interference.

In that year he founded the Technical Institute of Business Administration-ITAN-creating great convulsion in the middle, including a general strike at the University of Costa Rica.

Later and in parallel, in 1976, Veritas Collegium born as one of the four founding colleges of the first private university in Costa Rica.

The Veritas Collegium worked as ITAN sister institution, until 1994, the two institutions merge to become independent and become a new independent university under the name of Universidad Veritas.

Over time, and obeying the directions of the evolution of American society, Veritas University became a university specializing in teaching and learning of art, design and architecture, with the possibility of entering any discipline related to these fields.

Veritas, as the University of Art, Design and Architecture, is engineered for excellence in teaching. This responsibility becomes heavier to be regarded as the best middle school in their areas of expertise and its commitment to schools and colleges of art and design in other countries. For these same reasons, forays into new areas are planned and programmed with great care and detail, always looking to fulfill this responsibility.

Within this framework of excellence, the principles and Christian ethics, the evolution of the teaching process, development of creative thinking, technological upgrading, international relations and the welfare of the student, are the bases that Veritas has set to fulfill its university mission to begin serving the 21 st century American society.

ACADEMIC PHILOSOPHY
The academic project VERITAS University, is based on the articulation of a learning community based on experimentation, transdisciplinarity and innovation in an attempt to ensure the highest quality standards.

The theoretical principles of the curriculum is structured from the theories of teaching for understanding, constructivism and complex thought from which pedagogical model defines a wide profile and humanistic basis, which allows students to develop their full potential based on their interests and aptitudes.

The research approach and emphasis on the link between learning process and the contextual situation, as main guidelines of the pedagogical processes, offer the professional future with the necessary tools to solve the main problems that arise in different areas of their performance based on the principles of sustainability, the development of an entrepreneurial mindset and social responsibility in local and international.
