Finis Terrae University's mission is integrally formed to people with extensive knowledge of their field, equipped with skills and competencies, creativity and reflective, allowing them to contribute to the development of society, nationally and internationally, based on the values of Christian culture - Western.

In March 1988 Finis Terrae University opened its doors to the community . Since then it has gradually established as a valuable contribution to the private university system. Realizes that the speed with which gained autonomy as a result of a rigorous work-oriented to fulfill its institutional project, which aims to train professionals of excellence that constitute a real contribution to the interests and needs of the country.

In its draft consolidation, Finis Terrae University in 1999 signed an Association Agreement with the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ, which has led to significant progress in infrastructure, institutional development and extension, and the opening of new careers.

Currently there are 19 undergraduate programs bear the imprint Finis Terrae, covering various areas of knowledge: Arts, Humanities, Engineering, Health Sciences and Education.

In November 2007 the University was accredited in Institutional Management and Teaching leading to title by the National Accreditation Commission until November 2010.

Faithful to the principles that inspired the founders, the following values are the hallmark Finis Terrae and are reflected in each of the actions we take, especially in the academic training of our students: individual responsibility, tolerance, interest in public affairs.

Individual responsibility

We believe that each person should take charge of their works and opinions, without hiding behind collective responsibility and expect others to resolve problems. We seek to continuously develop the personal strength to assume their responsibilities, even under the most adverse situations, being consistent with their ideals and the truth according to stringent ethical standards.
Ideas for various as they are, we deeply respect and strive to understand them without fail to have a proprietary position. In our university community we encourage both the development of individual thought and social diversity.
Interest in public affairs

We aim to train professionals who have an active participation in society, with a true vocation of interest in public issues, and therefore willing to engage in civic issues.
Consequently, Finis Terrae University as citizens with a free spirit. Above in the context of:
