In its 62 years of life, LAUP has focused its activity on the comprehensive training of graduates and professionals in a wide range of disciplines, promoting social development, cultural and economic development of the region and the country, next to the search for a company more integrated and inclusive to all.

The LAUP offers a variety of academic offerings in two attractive poles in the region of Valparaíso, the University District consolidated in the Playa Ancha, San Felipe and the campus, in the Aconcagua Valley.

This university offers careers in the areas of Education, Health, Technology, Arts and Culture, Social Sciences and Humanities. It also offers graduate programs, career technical and evening.

Disciplinary and cultural diversity has meant that young people from all over Chile choose to start their university life in the LAUP, accredited by the National Accreditation Commission (CNA) through 2012.

Our mission
The mission of the University of Playa Ancha is to train professionals in education, sciences, humanities, technology and the arts, analytical minded, critical and creative. The University aims, through teaching, extension, gradual promotion of research and graduate, to provide progressively and social responsibility for knowledge, innovation and promotion of quality of life, thereby impacting the country's development and especially in the region to help achieve a more integrated and inclusive.

Principles and values
The principles underlying the academic work and student at the University of Playa Ancha are based on the basis of a set of values that strengthen, revitalize and project the educational legacy of our House of Studies as part of its mission.

The University promotes values on a personal level, defined from the protection of the dignity of people without exclusion of any kind, freedom and integrity of citizens. This, as fundamental characteristics of professionals century.

Our institution promotes the formation of professionals capable of integrating into the world of work from the values of the common good and social equity, sustainable development and respect the environment and its resources, the sociability and solidarity for the coexistence with regional community, national and international acceptance and appreciation of diversity as characteristic of modern times, and the strengthening of citizenship, democracy and responsible participation.

As an institution, these values form an unwavering commitment to truth, excellence and quality as an expression of interdependence in the shaping of a dynamic relationship between the University of Playa Ancha and society, whose foundation rests on the base of the community welfare and their full development.

Our history
In order to become a space dedicated entirely to the cultivation and promotion of science and disciplines that make up the knowledge and human development, arising in 1948 the founding bases of what is now the University of Playa Ancha.

In the beginning our House of Studies was part of the University of Chile, collecting the heritage, prestige and tradition of this great institution of higher education in the country to independence and then delve into areas related to professional education, humanities, health sciences and rehabilitation, engineering and natural sciences.

With more than six decades of life, the University of Playa Ancha offered in different disciplines and careers ample opportunities for professional employment today, thanks to their experience, quality and reputation built in the region and country.
