Central University, along with two other institutions, the oldest private university in Chile. It was founded in 1982 and currently teaches 29 runs in its eight Faculties.
Autonomous since 1993, was institutionally accredited by the National Accreditation Commission from December 2008 to December 2012 in the areas of Institutional Management, Education Conducive to Title.
One of the main features of the Central University is to be a private corporation, nonprofit organization whose management and development lies with teachers themselves. This makes it a unique case in Chile.
Central University has an infrastructure and first class equipment and constantly updated. It has three buildings located in downtown Santiago, among which the new, modern North Almagro, opened in 2009, and a sports center in height and Regional Offices in the cities of Antofagasta and La Serena.
With more than twelve thousand undergraduate and graduate students, the Central University seeks to form comprehensive professional, enterprising and innovative, and high social sense, principles that are revealed in both the mission and institutional values in our House of Studies .
