We are a private foundation, as a particular university, and are part of the 25 traditional schools members of the Rectors of Chilean Universities, CRUCH.
Founded in Valparaiso on April 27, 1926, to be issued Supreme Decree No. 996 of the Ministry of Justice, which was granted legal personality to the "Fundación Federico Santa Maria, according to the rules presented in a public deed giving life to the legacy of the visionary and enterprising businessman in Buenos Aires, Federico Santa Maria Carrera, who dreamed for the country and the world a lead institution in the field of Engineering, Science and Technology to contribute to development and human betterment.
