University of West of Santa Catarina:
an institution in the service of regional development
Born of an almost impossible dream in the late 60's, with the dream of bringing education into the state, Unoesc is now a major driver for the development organizations in the Midwest and western Santa Catarina.
Present in a geographic area stretching from Santa Cecilia, in the central highlands of Santa Catarina, to the border with Argentina reaching the southwestern and northwestern Paraná Rio Grande do Sul, Unoesc offers many undergraduate and postgraduate towards sustainable human, social, cultural, scientific and technological leadership, a population of over one million people.
Formed by uniting four separate foundations of higher education, Unoesc has its campuses in the cities of Joaçaba its administrative headquarters - Grapevine, Xanxerê and St. Michael West.
Each campus also has under its jurisdiction several campuses and Approximate Academic Units installed in surrounding cities, leading human education, citizenship, science and technology throughout the region, contributing significantly to regional development.
