The University of Cruz Alta is embedded in the historical context of the region since the 40s, through the Association of Teachers of Technical College of Commerce "Cruz Alta" that led to it, then the sponsor of the Technical Course in Accounting. In 1958 it was renamed the Association of Teachers of High Cross - APROCRUZ comprising Colleges isolated.
Fundação Universidade de Cruz Alta was established by Decree 97000 of 21 October 1988 and complete 22 years this year. Today Unicruz has more than three thousand five hundred students distributed in undergraduate, graduate and technical courses.
The trasnformação these Isolated in a University College was a longstanding desire of the community that cross-Altens came into being through Decree 97000/88, of 21/10/88, which created the Fundação Universidade de Cruz Alta, triggering the actions required to the actual installation of the University.
As the project approved by the University of 582/89 CFE Opinion, 7/07/89 at approximately the same has been granted as a private institution of higher education, in social and community, the collective domain, which under the law, main aims:
"The development of Science, Literature, Philosophy, Arts, and Humanities; training of qualified professionals for the job market demanded by society, the academic qualifications of researchers and scientists, and the preservation and promotion of culture and common good."
Recognized by the Ministry of MEC No. 1704 of 3 December 1993, the University of Cruz Alta entered a new stage, legitimized by the legal text and a natural maturation process, seeks to meet regional demands through an educational action effective, considering the social interests, committed to its tradition of serving the community.
The University of Cruz Alta aims at training professionals, essentially, the Man with the principles of freedom and human solidarity that make it able to build your reality with dignity and to participate in the development of society in the processing parameters that lead to well common.
In this dimension, the University throughout its history has been maintaining clear lines of action that will fulfill the educational and social values, priorities and preferences, temporal characteristics of the historical reality of their spatial location, and social policy. |
