In the late 1930s, a group of teachers from the Technical College of Commerce and Placido De Silva has turned a dream into reality: the creation of the Faculty of Economics of Paraná, launching the first college of economics at the State and becoming the second oldest institution of higher education in Parana.

Founded by retired educator, teacher and lawyer Oscar Joseph Placido e Silva, from its beginnings has been characterized as an institution concerned not only with knowledge and information but also to reveal skills.

Professor Oscar Joseph Placido e Silva headed the institution from 1937 to 1951 and was replaced by Joaquim de Almeida Peixoto.

Professor Peixoto turned the college into a society of teachers, have been established undergraduate courses in Accounting and Actuarial Science.

In 1967, the Faculty of Economics is transformed into a Foundation for Social Studies of Parana, the foundation of higher education nonprofit, Rua General Carneiro No. 216, in a building with ten classrooms.

In 1974 it created the ICSP - Social Sciences Institute of Paraná - with the goal of managing the undergraduate and extension. The Institute is responsible for teaching the courses offered, seeking the formation of qualified professionals.

In 2002 are opened 36 new and modern classrooms. These rooms are equipped with air conditioning, computers, projectors, individual tables and upholstered chairs. Are delivered, too, six computer labs with 210 computers and projectors, and an auditorium for 400 people.

Inaugurated in 2009 are four new classrooms, a laboratory of Capital Markets, convention room for 120 people and specific room for group dynamics.

It is signed with Florida Christian University - Florida - USA - partnership, creating the first comprehensive program of internationalization career, serving both students EPHF as others interested in the Brazilian community.

The ICSP - Social Sciences Institute of Parana is transformed into the Faculty of Higher Education of Paraná (FESP) maintained by the Foundation for Social Studies of Paraná (EPHF).

Currently provide the best education in Economics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, International Business, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Information Systems and Law.

In over 70 years of history, EPHF combines tradition and modernity. Trained over 18,000 professionals in different fields of knowledge with ethics and knowledge to help build the history of Paraná and Brazil.
