FAI - Colleges Itapiranga is located in the City of Itapiranga, which borders on the Republic of Argentina whose boundary is the Rio Peper Guaçu. The Uruguay River is important landmark that separates the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The Formation of the ethnic people of German descent is Itapiranga and economic base is in agriculture. It also has a large number of autonomous service providers and corporations, as well as a large number of Industries and Commerce to generate many new jobs each year that passes. With all this, the council is seen as a pole of Colleges of Education and FAI Itapiranga is a major provider of modernization in all production sectors promoting mainly the formation of new entrepreneurs who bring the regional progress.
FAI - Colleges Itapiranga includes the states of Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul and Parana. It is a fact that contributes to the development of society and building the knowledge and history.

SEI - Educational Society of Itapiranga, sponsor of the FAI - Colleges Itapiranga, was formed on June 17, 2000, and its charter registered in the Registry of Deeds and Documents Itapiranga, State of Santa Catarina, under No. 344 in June 20, 2000. Thereafter developed the design work and the development of institutional and political designs of educational courses would be offered initially.
The Design Colleges Itapiranga FAI, was filed at the Registry of the Ministry of Higher Education - SESU in Brasilia in September 2000 with Courses Business with emphasis in Human Resources and Foreign Trade, Accounting and Normal Superior Qualification in Early Years and Early Childhood Education.
In January 2001 the Committee of MEC's Course Administration with specialization in Human Resources and Foreign Trade respectively were evaluated for their structure, curriculum, goals, and teachers with concept B. Following the procedures of the Course Directors was authorized by Ordinance No. 1578 of July 19, 2001. The selection process was established and the first was held on July 29, 2001. The inaugural Lecture was delivered by Professor Tarcisio Kummer, President of the Institution, on August 6, 2001. On the same day he was inaugurated the first Board of the Academic Center under President Gilmar Berté Roque. The first classes of Administration, with specialization in Human Resources and Foreign Trade were formed, each with 60 students.
SEI - Educational Society of Itapiranga FAI - Colleges Itapiranga began its activities on the premises of the College of Integrated Itapiranga, located at Rua da Matriz No. 351, Centro.
With the implementation of the Institutional Development Plan were granted the Accounting Course, Ordinance No. 2719 of December 12, 2001; Normal Superior Qualification in the first years of elementary school and degree for Early Childhood Education, Ordinance No. 2751 of 25 September 2002;
On February 17, 2003 was inaugurated the headquarters, located at Rua Carlos Kummer, 100, Bairro Universitário, Itapiranga, SC.
In the year 2004 were allowed the operation of Courses Business with emphasis in Marketing, Ordinance No. 243, January 20, 2004; Agronomy Ordinance No. 2411 of August 11, 2004; Mathematics Ordinance No. 2412 of August 11, 2004. In 2006, courses were authorized law aut. Mec 1314 of 17/07/2006, Veterinary Medicine aut. Mec 910 of 13/11/2006, Pedagogy aut. Mec 943 of 22/11/2006, and Technology in Food aut. Mec 301, 10/12/2009.
Principles of the Institutional Development Plan explains the different fields of reality and seeks changes whose purpose is to transform. The mission of the institution is pursuing an innovative and quality education whose vision requires institutional administrative actions, educational, quality of higher education and vocational training.
