Faculdades Barddal
Florianópolis, Brazil

University description (as per official university website)

Principles governing Barddal System of Education:

I) COURSE AND SEQUENCE

TRAVEL AND SEQUENCE - Registration is six months and provided for all subjects in the curriculum for the semester but the student, after registered, you can request a waiver of compliance given disciplines, either already have them taking courses at another institution and asks his co-validation, or to relieve the weekly and stroke them later.

Advantages over the system of 'Enrollment by Discipline':

a) Students enrolled in the first half of the course is a real 'class', where all students will remain together until the end of the course, generating a great camaraderie between them, facilitating the exchange of personal experiences;

b) Teachers form a team with a common goal: to take a diverse group of students in the 1st half and form them into a group of competent professionals and updated, which together will complete his degree.

II) BACKGROUND OF THE COURSES - PHILOSOPHY OF THE INSTITUTION

a) student motivation for learning the content of each discipline, showing him in every class to serve their future professional life in what is now being taught;

b) Raising awareness about the professional future by placing it, ever since the first classes, faced with the practical issues that have to solve in the future, starting with the simplest and forwarding it to the most complex - in short, the student must learn doing.

III) GUIDANCE GIVEN TO TEACHERS

a) During the lesson should be given the theoretical basis of real facts and concrete that make up the professional life of each student;

b) The student, motivated, will do research and work with individual production or in small groups;

c) The work done by various groups should be provided for all other members of the same class and under the guidance of the teacher, the components of each group will make necessary repairs perfectly understand why they had to be made;

d) The training should cover made the greatest possible amount of functional skills, expanding the labor market each student has to complete the course.

IV) FLEXIBILITY IN VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Among many others, some examples of this flexibility in their training:

- The Architect will be a designer, an urban planner, a landscape architect or an interior decorator;

- The Industrial Design (designer) will be dedicated to Product Design or Visual Programming;

- The accounting officer may make the accounting of the various sectors of the economy, but also may be an auditor, an accounting expert or working fining;

- The Professional Information may choose and adapt the 'software' that already exist to various branches of business or profession, you can create your own 'software', provide technical assistance or be hired to develop specific computers, etc..

IV) THE GOOD TEACHER IS ESSENTIAL, BUT MUST BE AWARE THAT IS THE INTELLECTUAL WORK THAT THE STUDENTS DEVELOP DURING THE COURSE THAT WILL DETERMINE THE QUALITY OF YOUR LEARNING AND THAT IS WHY HE HAS TO LEARN BY DOING.
