The Don Bosco School of Porto Alegre either be vitalizing a center of educational activities and pastoral runs, reworks and give Christian meaning to their knowledge, which promotes the formation of young people and continuing education of all segments of society who are constantly challenged by changes and the innovations of our time.
To accomplish its mission, the Don Bosco School of Porto Alegre establishes as permanent objectives:
a. develop higher education by promoting various forms of knowledge and encouragement to scientific and cultural creativity to contribute as an active agent in the development of Brazilian society;
b. be an area of higher education that you press for academic excellence and who are attuned to the mission of the College with the needs emanating from the social context in which it operates and the policies of higher education in Brazil;
c. promote the formation of the individual, enabling it to their inclusion in critical and creative world of work and production and their role as agents of social transformation;
d. ensure the conditions and means for the human and professional constinuada the academic community to develop responsible and supportive of the purposes proposed by the Faculty;
e. provide the means necessary for the production and transmission of knowledge to create cultural necessidaes committed to the social and societal development;
f. promote exchanges and partnerships that contribute to the educational qualifications of the Faculty;
g. ensure academic autonomy for the scientific and cultural creativity to stimulate the prospect of universal knowledge and culture.
Guiding Principles
1 - Mission
The Don Bosco School of Porto Alegre's mission is to promote, build and disseminate knowledge and values of life, contributing to the formation of the individual, enabling it for professional and citizenship, and encouraging continuous learning and performance solidarity in society.
2 - Vision
This mission is based on the view that higher education developed by the Don Bosco School of Porto Alegre is the bearer of values, content frameworks and practices that contribute to self-realization of people, becoming a facilitator of the interaction of men and women with one another and with the world. In this horizon, the Don Bosco School of Porto Alegre is oriented in the light of vision to be a reference center for the development of permanent and continuing actions to promote education from the perspective of solidarity, creativity, innovation and commitment to life.
3 - Guiding Principles
The Don Bosco School of Porto Alegre is part of the Salesian Family. Founded by Don Bosco (1815-1888) is present in 132 countries worldwide. Its mission is the education and evangelization of youth, especially the most poor and abandoned. Meet the young students at the point where they are to stay on a path of education, makes them more human and dignified. This walk involves the largest number of persons and groups committed to the struggle against exclusion and the generation of a culture of solidarity.
4 - Commitments
The statement around the commitments around the values of life, solidarity, justice, truth and freedom is enshrined as a basic to the dignity of man and woman in the cultural and social differences. 2.4 The Focus Areas of Commitment
To achieve these commitments, the Don Bosco School of Porto Alegre defines commitment as the preferred areas of operating:
a. the involvement of the education community around the project of higher education;
b. the co-responsibility of the educational community in developing programs and projects, encouraging fellowship and sharing in the spirit and mission of the Faculty, subject to the functions and identity of each member of the community;
c. communication as a means of social integration and strength of consensus, to produce an area of interactive communication, which encourages dialogue, interpersonal communication, community and social communication and fosters education;
d. adequadaàs continued education and new demands of society to accomplish the mission proposed by the faculty.
