Governed by the educational legislation of the Federal Education for its General Rules, and the status of your entity sponsor - The Centre for Higher Education Apucarana - as appropriate.

This, in turn, is a civilian nonprofit organization with headquarters in the city before cited. From these records it appears that only in the early years of the 90s is that private initiative was organized to expand higher education opportunities in Apucarana which is the city hub of the region's river valley Ivaí, with twenty-eight municipalities and one population of four hundred and fifty thousand inhabitants. But it was only in June 1999 that the first course - Information Systems - was allowed to run. Until this year higher education in Apucarana had been restricted to a faculty of economics held by the state sector.

At that time the activities related to agri - business grew from small family enterprises to complex corporate enterprises, operating in large scale both nationally and internationally. The region experienced remarkable economic and social progress.

Then appears the demand for courses that could provide alternative career paths and to form frames of human resources capable of taking forward the requirements from the improvement of life and well-being achieved in 90 years.

In this context we designed the School of Apucarana. The course on Information Systems in the technology sector reflected the concern with the modernization of enterprises and services, the intensive use of computing. His professional scope and its relevance are characteristics that can support the training of professionals in the labor demand.
Between 2000 and 2002, eight courses were allowed to be offered by the Faculty of Apucarana which functioned in rented facilities and temporary with the College Mater Dei. The list of courses differed from other private institutions of neighboring cities as they relate to various areas such as: Bachelor of Information Systems, Bachelor of Tourism, with emphasis in Hospitality, Bachelor in Business Administration, with specialization in Marketing, Bachelor in Mathematics, Emphasis in Computer Science, Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor in Nursing, Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological and Normal Superior.
So if the chances of actions outlining the Faculty of Apucarana committed to improving the level of scientific and academic preparation of professionals in their courses as part of society, scientific understanding their problems and assisting in their solutions.

The completion of this work was intended to boost in 2003, with exchange of maintenance and direction of the School. The new direction with academic posture - scientific, at the time it was reviewing all the academic and administrative regulation in conjunction with the Collegiate was superior, with the Maintainer, construction of permanent premises. On August 4, 2003, alumni, faculty, staff and officials were already studying and working in modern classrooms, laboratories and offices. 13,000 m2 of buildings in brick, in a land of 140,000 m2.

In January 2004, began re - structuring the Faculty administration. Were implanted divisions: Academic, Administrative and Finance at the tactical level to assist the Directorate General on the strategic level in conjunction with the collegiate institutions fully functioning independently.

The size of the academic vocation clearer - Faculty of scientific Apucarana came in May 2004 with approval of a plan for jobs and salaries to faculty. In their schemes of work for some time for classes and time for scientific research and for the extension, necessarily. The contract was extinguished an hour lesson. All teachers were qualified, adhering to a set of working arrangements in the plan.

The deployment plan had sequence with the First Forum for Research and Extension, Faculty of Apucarana held on July 31, 2004, with the participation of all faculty. In it were deliberate the topics of research and extension projects that count with the support of the Faculty and the Maintainer. Scientific ethical commitment and social inclusion are the characteristics of these projects.

To flesh out these administrative actions in favor of growth and academic development - scientific, was initiated in conjunction with the Maintainer, strategic planning, Faculty of Apucarana. For this purpose we organized a workshop used the methods of display and restraint for twelve hours, with the participation of forty-seven people between managers, engineers, professors, heads of administrative sectors, technical and administrative representatives and two for students course.

Following this strategic planning will be conducted other meetings for definition of action plans, where a participatory way. Was taking shape the profile of the Faculty of Apucarana to be: Academic - Science, Democratic and Socially Responsible. Truly Higher Education.

In October 2008, was requested by the MEC, authorization for operation of the B.Sc. in Psychology, whose assessors visit is planned for the year 2009.

The Faculty of Apucarana will:

"Generate and disseminate to ethical principles, knowledge through teaching, research and extension, training professionals able to interact face to reality, promoting social development."

It is appropriate that this mission is explicit in his statement in order to describe the understandings and feelings that led to people who study and work in the Faculty of Apucarana to build it with this description. For this, it fits the text - The Mission of FAP Step by Step - by Prof. Luiz Alexandre Solano Dr. Rossi is a professor in the institution as follows:

" Its mission is "

Nothing happens by chance. The reality we live is socially constructed from the hands of men and women who come together and interact to adjust the time and space. The FAP joins in solidarity with these many hands in order to develop its mission. And mission seen as something continuous and endless. In this sense we understand the mission like a gerund.

"Generate and disseminate"

The FAP as an institution is not only concerned with reproducing knowledge. Yes, she is attentive to the fine scientific tradition that we must sovereignly. However, it seeks to respond to contemporary challenges to the generation of new knowledge and new possibilities. Not only generate and store in ivory towers, but spread the knowledge to build a healthy and egalitarian society.

"Ethical principles"

Since its inception the PAF search is guided by ethical principles. For us matters are non-negotiable principles. And the ethical principle is the cornerstone of relations between individuals, social, economic, political and educational society. And the ethical criterion for excellence is human life itself. So our actions are guided by the uncompromising defense of human beings and building a society where everyone belongs.

Think and live in knowledge always plural, so "knowledge." Not reduce knowledge to a monolithic block guarded by a group of scholars in an ivory tower. We walked towards the knowledge with the same intensity that we see the dawn each day to renew itself.

"Through education"

The word education leads us to think about the release of the student (a). In this sense we see the student (a) as subject of the construction of knowledge along with the faculty. Our educational project encourages teachers (as) to perceive their students (as) as autonomous and creative and not as simple repositories of wisdom to expect from doctors.

The FAP considers research as a conditio sine qua non for their existence. In its dynamic educational seek to instigate the search in relation to both teachers and among students. We believe the research as a means of keeping the flame of creativity burning. It is based on creativity in research that can assume the correct posture to go beyond what is easy and only executable. The unrest caused by the creativity is the key to the flourishing of scientific vocation.

Consequently, we see ourselves as a privileged institution in meeting the requirements, and answer the big questions of the city and the region where we operate.

"Training professionals"

Pedagogically we want to build not only citizens, but also professionals of the highest quality. Men and women who are competent in their professional activity and know how to use their knowledge in a creative and transformative. Conjugate citizenship and professionalism in our rooms so that our graduates in the public are able to use their intelligence practice in community building in which they live.

"Able to interact"

We envision our graduates as interpreters of reality. This requires the ability to think from the commitment to history. In this sense, we appreciate the sympathy instead of apathy. The interaction at the expense of the breakdown. The solidarity instead of individualism.

"Face reality"

Our principles lead us to compromise with reality. Thus we preserve the clear duty of reading the pages taken from reality. It does not run away, but her entanglement creatively in order to transform it when necessary. The reality, therefore, presents itself to us as a challenge and an opportunity.

"Promoting social development"

The achievement of a university degree with a mark of FAP can not be understood as a condition for achieving a just personal. Rather, it is a condition for the realization of a collective project that takes a look at the construction of a civic nation. The transformation of Brazilian society and world society requires professionals that bring the brand into their diplomas FAP and FAP's mission in their hearts. In fulfilling its mission to the people who work and study at the Faculty of Apucarana should act, behave and interact with the following vision:

"Being a center of excellence and regional referral teaching, research and extension through the quality of services provided."
