The success story of the Faculty Ruy Barbosa began to be delineated in 1989. The commitment to train professionals able to interact critically in a society marked by constant transformation was finally sealed the following year, with the initial entrance exam for graduate courses in Management and Technology in Data Processing.
Since then, the College has not stopped growing. Always keeping in mind the interdisciplinary courses, the institution began offering in 1998, options for Bachelor of Computer Science and Psychology.
In 2002 came the law school, with a total annual supply of 960 vacancies. Seeking a constant update, and without neglecting the excellence of teaching, the Faculty Ruy Barbosa promoted a transformation in the course of data processing, increasing their workload, and deepening the content by adding new disciplines.
Thus, it was established in 2002 the course of Information Systems, to meet the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and the market demands.
The first courses Postgraduate School Ruy Barbosa were launched in 1999 to bring further improvement to both the students it graduates, and professionals in market performance.
The result was the increase in teaching, research and extension activities related to graduation and the consequent strengthening of the education program.
In June 2008, Ruy Barbosa became part of the Group Fanor, a group with an innovative vision, which aims to offer quality training in conjunction with the job market and committed to a social agenda in the region.
In 2009, the Group has undergone a change Fanor Corporation, DeVry having as main partner, one of the most traditional education groups in the United States, with 75 years experience, over 100 thousand students in 30 countries, with shares traded on New York. With the entry of DeVry, the Group took a big jump in quality from an academic standpoint, going to work with an international education provider of proven excellence.
In 2010 the Ruy increases its portfolio of courses, and will offer 5 new courses: Nutrition, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Physical Education and Architecture and four technology courses: Marketing, Process Management, Logistics, Human Resource Management. In addition, another new feature this year is the launch of the International MBA programs being offered in partnership with the Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University.
And so that in 20 years of history, Faculdade Ruy Barbosa became a benchmark in higher education, gaining more and more trust of society. The intention now is to continue growing throughout Brazil.
About Fanor
With professional management, a teaching project focused on the market and a modern curriculum focusing on skills development, the Fanor was founded in 2001, in Fortaleza (CE), with an infrastructure consisting of 63 classrooms with air-conditioning and "data show", two auditoriums, theater, library, gym and sports courts with four semi-Olympic pool, and Cyber Fanor, space 90 with the latest computer with free access to all students.
The teaching methods applied in Fanor are modern and innovative, being based in workshops, debates, case studies, forums, among others.
