The School of Greater Metropolitan Recife began in 2001 in the district of Boa Viagem in Recife - PE, offering undergraduate courses in Tourism, Accounting and Business Administration with majors in General Management and Business Management.
In 2002 with the goal of Greater Recife be effectively and better serve their students temporarily moved its headquarters to the Shopping Guararapes, in the district of Piedade, in the city of Jaboatao dos Guararapes - PE, offering the same undergraduate courses.
In 2003, sensing the potential of this region comes with a request by the MEC for expansion of the institution seeking to offer other undergraduate courses that this region was lacking.
In 2004 he offered his first course of post-graduation courses.
In 2005 he received the permission of the MEC to offer the course in Social Communication in Advertising and operational issues because of its academic expansion, moved its headquarters on Avenue Barreto de Menezes, 809, Piedade in the district in the city Jaboatão dos Guararapes, significantly increasing its physical space.
Later this year, the Course Administration had published its recognition by the MEC with maximum rating, CMB - Concept Very Good, old concept "A" and three leaders of the Maintainer of the Metropolitan College of Greater Recife were awarded the title of Citizen Jaboatonense by relevant services to Jaboatão dos Guararapes in Education.
In 2006 began the first class of the course of Social Communication in Advertising and Accounting Course recognition was published by the MEC with maximum rating (CMB).
With an aim to serve low-income students are not covered with PROUNI FIES and the Metropolitan College deploys EMC - Metropolitan Educational Credit where 50% of the monthly payment to be funded upon completion of the course, taking the student up to six years to pay depending on the length of the course.
In 2007, confirming our vocation education, the MEC approved the law school and in recognition of the Tourism course, also with the CMB. This situation is confirmed for excellence in assessing the course of tourism, the single Pernambuco awarded four stars in the Student Guide published by Editora Abril.
Again Maintainer two leaders and two directors of the Metropolitan College of Greater Recife were awarded the title of Citizen Jaboatonense for the services rendered to Jaboatão dos Guararapes in Education.
In 2008, it will operate in two shifts (morning and evening) with a team of highly qualified and motivated teachers, and starts over two courses Undergraduate: Law and Technological Course Port Management.
The course in Port Management Technology, the first authorized by the MEC to be deployed in the Northeast, confirmed this position as an innovator and has as objective to train professionals qualified to work in the local port complex, Recife and Suape.
Always innovating, has signed a partnership agreement with ESAB - Escola Superior Brazil Open, with pole face in post-graduate distance, also in extending the offer classroom courses.
In 2009, under new Director Academic, reduced amounts of fees, and implemented the NEAD - Center for Distance Education, aiming in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance 4059 of the MEC to partial deployment of undergraduate courses at a distance, improving and facilitating access to Higher Education.
The School of Greater Metropolitan Recife as an educational institution, intended to promote higher education, science and general culture. Thus, planning requires an understanding of the need to prepare professionals to meet the needs and expectations of the labor market and society, with ability to formulate, organize and socialize knowledge in their fields, and thus contribute to the development the state of Pernambuco and the Northeast of Brazil.
