Son Lawrence College, accredited by the Ministry of Education in 1997, started its academic activities on 1 March 1998, with the course of Bachelor in Computer Science Full. Fruit of the continuity of the educational activities of the College Lourenço Filho, one of the more traditional schools of Fortaleza, founded on February 7, 1938 by educators Filgueiras Lima, Paulo Sarasate, and was inaugurated to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the college.
For purposes of continuing a serious work in higher education, the Faculty Lourenco Filho initiated in 2005, the activities of the Accounting course and in 2006, the institution held its first tryout for the course in Information Systems, consolidating as a reference in the technology area. In 2010 was inaugurated the course of administration, who received The concept of MEC.
Also in 2010 was inaugurated the Faculty of Technology Lourenco Filho a new headquarters at Av Gen. Osório de Paiva, 395, Parangaba designed exclusively for the operation of their degree courses Undergraduate Technology - short term - in management and informatics .
And so the college has grown, expanding its areas, installing new equipment, improving their teaching staff, always seeking to promote better educated thousands of Ceará, ensuring a fully trained, solid, ethical, and above all humanistic.

The Accounting Course Faculty Lawrence Son has an emphasis on controllership. This emphasis arose from the need to train professionals able to use the full potential existing in the accounts without any restriction to the bookkeeping information, but also performing the analysis and interpretation of information so that they can thus generate a useful data source to the process of decision making.
The Accounting course aims to train professionals able to exercise effectively and critical sense of the profession and the role of counter data manager, able to support the process of decision making and to exercise management positions in organizations, committed to continuous updating and ethical principles that guide the profession.
For this, the course will provide students opportunities to develop the ability to think logically and abstractly, to reflect about the heterogeneity of social and organizational demands and examine the context in which they live, making it able to renew their skills continuously, from a process of self-learning. Through the consolidation of this generalist profile, the course aims to train skilled professionals to create, maintain and improve accounting processes, provide consulting and advisory services for high-level public and private organizations with or nonprofit.
The curriculum of Accounting provides subsidies for the accounting professional can carry out activities in several areas of the counter, and as:
- Professional Liberal (or standalone) and may act as Independent Auditor, Consultant, Business Accounting, Mediator and Arbitrator, Expert Accountant, Fraud Investigator;
- Employee covered by CLT, in companies operating in tax planning, as Financial Analyst, General Accountant, Internal Auditor, Accountant Cost, "Controller" etc.;
- Civil Service, and Certified Public Accountant, Income Tax agent, servant of the Court of Accounts, Military;
- Professor, in teaching undergraduate and graduate students;
- Board of any entities.

The Course of Information Systems, Faculty Lourenco Filho provides its students with opportunities to develop the ability to think logically and abstractly, to reflect about the heterogeneity of social and organizational demands and examine the context in which they live, making is able to continually renew their skills, from a process of self-learning and equipping themselves to act in a labor market subject to constant changes. Through consolidation of theoretical knowledge and practical, graduates of the course will be professionals capable to understand, develop, use and adapt information technologies. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the course will train qualified professionals to create, maintain and improve information systems and provide consulting and advisory services for high-level public and private organizations with or without end profitable.
