Foundation of UBEC and deployment of FCCH

Facing the Brazilian educational scenario in the decades of 1960/70 and, according to the urban development of the country's new capital, the possibility of establishing a Catholic University in Brasilia, is now considered and discussed. The early organizers went out of the historical ideal. Directors of Religious Schools in Brasilia, led by President of the Association of Private Establishments, Father Jose Teixeira da Costa Nazareth, have taken initiatives to meet and the participants of this time were ten Catholic educational institutions, in work groups, unfolded in activities that defined the facts to the institution of the keeper of the future Catholic University of Brasilia.

From the historic decision of the registry in Registry? Minutes of the meeting, Staff and Tenure Board 1 ª?, Happened on August 12, 1972 the group of Directors of Catholic Schools of Brasilia decided to found the Union of Education and Brasiliense Culture? UBEC, a private civil society and educational goals, charitable, philanthropic and non-profit organizations to become the Body Maintainer of future institutions, aimed at the educational and cultural issues in general. But the main goal was to create this entity, in Brasilia, a Catholic University. To date, the combined entities representing ten congregations, all over 100 years of international experience in education.

It was part of this first step, preparation of procedural documents required by the Federal Board of Education? CFE, for authorizing the operation of the first educational unit of the third degree, maintained by UBEC, which was the Catholic Faculty of Humanities? FCCH. The beginning of the academic work of the Faculty happened to the Pedagogy courses, Economics and Business Administration and its first Director General was Father José Teixeira da Costa Nazareth, Salesian of Don Bosco, also mentor the creation of the UBEC. The decision to authorize the CFE, the date of March 12, 1974, by Decree n º 73,813, signed by President Emilio Medici Garrastazu. Very importantly, this mandate was the visibility? New Future? Catholic University; preserving a name? ? Catholic? that one can not debunk, the consolidation of an unprecedented experiment (the union of religious), the quality of education that is offered with a specific methodology of the Catholic, all courses were recognized by the MEC before graduation class of the 1 ª and even the decision to purchase by the Maintainer - UBEC, the land in Wansbeck, which would be the future home of the Catholic Campus. Her first term was FCCH until 22/04/1978, when the Board was occupied by General Almerinda Sister of the Angels, the Congregation of Sisters of Mission Conception School.

The year 1981 will mark another important moment in history of the Catholic, when, on August 8, an amendment of the Statutes and Regulations, due to the new realities of the moment, allowed the institution to be organized into a structure more consistent and appropriate education Condo its own expansion. This measure allowed the installation of Integrated Colleges of Brasilia Catholic? FICB, whose authorization was in accordance with the Opinion n º 273/81 of the CFE, collecting the following Units of Instruction: Catholic Faculty of Humanities, Catholic School and Technology College (Centre) of Education. The Directorate General was under the management of Sister Querubina Silva, of the Congregation of Missionaries of the Immaculate Conception of the Mother of God and one of its main endeavors was the definition of construction projects of the first buildings in the land already acquired, for to launch the works of the Catholic Campus in Wansbeck.

On March 12, 1985, the Catholic Campus Brasilia was inaugurated with the first building, now called Building St. John Baptist de La Salle. The development of FICB was unquestioned, confirming the scope of works whose objectives, guidelines for action and goals to be aimed at preparing the project for the College in recognition of the Catholic University of Brasilia. In January 1985, a new management began in FICB and mandate of Director General went to Alberto Fossá brother Eugenius, the Congregation of the Brothers De La Salle that it was at that time responsible for a school, based at its campus and place it occupied prominent among the institutions of higher education in the Federal District. On 19/12/1986 Brother Eugenio left their positions. The Maintainer - UBEC, on 29/01/1987, appointed to the post of Director General Father Wagner de Oliveira Brandão, accompanied the Vice-Director of Education, by Sr. Deborah Pinto Niquini and the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Prof Lucia Ortęncia Prieto Ávila. Father Wagner was a Salesian of Don Bosco and remained as Director of FICB until January 1988.

The administrative and academic work continued at a pace intense enough to crises and difficulties could be overcome and, as of 10/01/1988, the General Directorate of FICB began to be directed by Father Decio Teixeira Batista, also of the Congregation of the Salesian of Don Bosco. For the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer was appointed Professor. Antonio Caldeira de Oliveira Godoy and the Deputy Director of Education continued to Sr. Deborah. Fr Decius has boosted renovations and a? Leap? created all conditions for the future recognition of Integrated Schools in the University. A major objective of this direction was exactly the course of that procedure, with the Federal Board of Education. On January 25, 1990, the CEO of UBEC, Affonso Sr. Angelo Falquet forwarded to the President of the CFE Letter of Inquiry with the transformation of R Visa FICB at Catholic University of Brasilia.

The Faculty of UCB, and, in most cases, doctors and teachers, investing in the scientific improvement of students with various research projects that include students and researchers. Methodological This condition did not cease to be a return to the University of any investment that the Catholic Church did and does the professional development of teachers. Laboratories include 149 spaces for learning and professional practice, including those of HUCB, which reinforce the theoretical knowledge taught to students. The University Hospital? HUCB meets Condo dynamics of knowledge in the health area that offer 08 courses at UCB and its social importance is manifested by the attendance ŕqueles who do not earn enough. Programs within the private medicine, such as care for patients with Cystic Fibrosis and Diabetes and the work of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Urogineco-Obstetrics Hospital make this a new development in people's lives. The project to fight cancer in Rio Grande North, is an experiment unprecedented in the world. Library System, from 193 000 pieces in 2003 to 215,782 in 2006.

The historical moment at which to develop the management of Professor. Dr. Deborah Sister Niquini was marked by a significant increase in the number of institutions of higher education in the Federal District. With it also increased the competition, which became, over time, increasingly predatory and unfair. Still, the financial results of the third administration gave Condo UCB academic community to ensure a balance that must remain and ensure the longevity of so important institution in the local, regional and national levels. The competence of the team advising the Dean contributed to the good results of this university management. However, one can say with certainty that in the history of UCB, the trajectory represents a female activist and participatory approach, considering the very image of Mother Maria Domenica Mazzarelo, mentor and co-founder of one of the congregations that constitute the UBEC? Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters) and the contributions of many women experienced in the art of education. The complexity and diversity of experiences and achievements experienced by these women may be represented here by Almerinda Sister, Sister by Deborah S. Querubina and that, over these 33 years, occupied the post of Directors General and Rector of this University who projects to the world. Sister Deborah's mandate expired on 31/12/2006, passing the job to Father Jose Romualdo 31/01/2007 Degasperi in an installation ceremony of University Management 4 ª UCB.

[8] 30/04/2004 Opened in the results of work done previously by HUCB give evidence of the direct benefits obtained by the population. Since its inception, and working with 25 specialties, the hospital has served more than 50,000 patients, performing close to 294,000 procedures. Physiotherapy is only with about 400 visits per day.

The ceremony was broadcast to the post of Rector Father Jose Romualdo Degasperi happened lol 31/01/2007 9:00 a.m. the day in the auditorium of the Block St. John Baptist de La Salle. In the words of Brother Nelso Bordignon, Chancellor of UCB, this year marks the year 13s as Catholic University and 33 anniversary of academic activities as an Institution of Higher Education. The tradition of congregations gathered in the UBEC is fundamental education, and higher in the world and UCB should have their vision focused on Brazil and the World. The Rector called for the 4S Mandate of the University, 2007-2010, and Stigmatine priest who served for twelve years, functions in the Dean of UCB, especially in the Dean of Extension knows the history of social compromises that the founders and defined as pioneers of the Catholic mission, principles and vision.

Already in the first three months of this management of this history recorded that the Mandate of Fr Romualdo, met expectations. Actual knowledge given condition to maintain the level of expansion until then the University has showed the R Brazilian society. The daily living showed attitudes of academic and administrative rationalization.

Soft-looking and charismatic influence the new directions of UCB, as Provost since 1994. The constant preoccupation with Catholic ideals, without proselytizing, to direct much attention to students, teachers, and also with the poorest communities that surround the UCB confirmed the optimistic expectations. The walkways that interconnect all the buildings on campus have strengthened the atmosphere of freedom and confidence. A very important symbol of this direction was the same, the decision to remove all access control turnstiles Rs inputs and outputs on the campus of UCB. This restored the freedom to come and go in the internal traffic of a building to another. Fr Romualdo made a reallocation of various sectors of the UCB, adapting them to physical spaces more convenient Condo nature of each.

From the month of January 2007, immediately Condo his appointment, Fr Romualdo expanded the conditions for expansion of the Distance Education mode in this University. Created this University, with the fancy name or UCB Virtual Virtual Catholic University of Brasilia, referring to Dean's support for issues of Distance Education? EAD, including external distribution. This was a decision that prompted an internal restructuring in the Virtual Catholic, allowing you to better working conditions and autonomy. He created the Board of Directors as a subordinate body Condo Dean of UCB, and along with that, the maintenance management and conservation; approved administrative rules and procedures on the Scheme of Teaching Work? RTD; adopted criteria for the distribution of the workload extracurricular teaching of undergraduate education at UCB, in the face modality; resized the Office of the Dean for Planning, Development and Institutional Assessment, transforming it into a Development Board and Director of Planning and Institutional Assessment with the task of proposing Rectory Condo Plan of Action and the Standards of Operation, restructured the Board of Academic Management, and reconstituted the disciplinary committee of the UCB.

Inaugurating a collaborative and democratic Gestão Fr Romualdo has made frequent visits to various sectors of the University that provides emotional and direct communication with all staff, teachers and principals. Confirmed the prospect of an administration that respects differences and at the same time, with a commitment to academic and scientific modern and accountable.

Since the beginning of the management procedure redirects, dismissals, appointments and even the dismissals were intended to restructure the boards of academic administration consistent with the guidelines to be implemented. The positions of directors and other sectors that needed to undergo change and restructuring were being held with people and actions for the implementation of ideas to ensure the financial health and sustainability of academic competence that the Catholic Church has achieved over the years. Thus was created the Virtual UCB, the Board of Postgraduate Distance graduate and extension, the Board of College Courses Distance Learning, the Director of Pastoral Care Program, the Development Board, the Director of Planning and Institutional Assessment, the Dean's Advisory Board, the Directorate of Development and Innovation, the Board of the Post-Graduação with innovation in the creation of the Board of the Post-graduate programs, the Directorate of Strategic Relations and the Committee of Reflection and Marketing at UCB . All with the purpose of asserting the inseparability, the extensionality, sustainability and pastoral principles that were the identifiers for a history of mentalities such management.
In 2008, the Working Groups were set-GTs for the drafting of Teaching Extension, for matters pertaining to public-private management of the Regional Hospital of Santa Maria, restructured Scheme Continuous Time (RTC) of work, new divisions in area planning and innovation which will allow the creation of the Center for Innovation and Business Unit? Catholic Tec Services and UCB School of Priority Condo Extensăo.Dar innovation, with primary focus on social technologies and biotechnology companies seeking partners, developing property market, deploying a cluster of biotechnology as a step further at the Center for High Performance, strengthening the Innovation Center to make it a real business office and all of it aimed at strengthening the Units management strategy.
Around the year 2009 the shares of the fourth University Management to drive the decisions were already previously defined and prioritized the work that has been defined as marketing - Towards the 15th Anniversary of the University. A schedule has been properly prepared for the Act of Remembering and Celebrating the moment of recognition in the University to stay on record. Memory and History of UCB was a sector that received the support of the current rectory. The strategic importance of permanent and historical research at UCB was considered a priority because it is a job that supports their own institutional identity.

In all those years from 2007 to 2010 was realized the constant concern about the transparency of decisions and as said the Rev. Romuald, in 2 ª opening half of 2010, a ceremony of welcome to Professor, Rector of Desires by 31 / 12/2010, is to, first, supporting the four principles outlined at the beginning of management: the inseparability, the extensionality, sustainability and pastoral of the University; desires they're focused on the quality of management, based on the learning process , in living healthy and skills; geared to teaching the coexistence, where there is the research, the transfer of learning and extensionality; facing an educational community in which political fraternity, solidarity, the value of the human spirit and ethics.
