Institutional Mission
In shape, the synthesized UNIARAXÁ objectively, its institutional mission: to promote citizens' education for employability, sustainability and cross border.

The civic education proposed by the institutional mission of the University Center Plateau Araxá, turns to the formation of global citizens who can cope with different and to establish consistent with everything they value, breaking the paradigm that he scored intolerant and uncompromising world with others.

Institutional Values
The University Center Araxá Plateau has its institutional philosophy based on the following values: Respect for life and diversity, Justice, Freedom, Ethics, Democracy and Solidarity.

Future Vision
The consistent association between values and institutional mission is able to promote the HEI to the point predicted by its management: Being a referral institution, recognized by the consistency of their actions and results.

Our future vision portrays the commitment to quality, with the outcome and the social relevance of their role in society.

We intend to grow into an integrated and quality, in addition to consolidating our presence in the area, being an institution that has the entrepreneurship and innovation as flags.


In the late 60's, many farmers, professionals and authorities - are worried about the fate of Araxá and, remarkably, with the exodus of our young people to other regions in search of higher education - gathered to talk and farms these meetings was born and brought forth the idea of creating a Higher Education Institution in phosphate. They started the "Golden Book", which were recorded earlier contributions from supporters of the idea, because it was requiring the establishment of a Cultural Foundation and a halt to this heritage.

In 1972, the Cultural Foundation was established Araxá through Municipal Law 1.199/72, as amended by Law No. 1.222/73 Hall. The foundation was vigorous ready to receive the magnificent building .... and the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters Araxá first unit of Higher Education of this city, had its license to operate granted by Presidential Decree No. 72688 of 24/08/1973. Were thus allowed the Courses of Arts, Education and Social Studies, subsequently recognized by the following legal acts: Decree No. 77.944/76 (Social Studies), Decree No. 80.025/77 (Pedagogy) and Decree No. 79.270/77 (Literature).

During the 70s and 80s, FAFI Araxá as it became known, has provided significant services to the city and neighboring counties, graduating teachers and giving all schools the opportunity to leave behind the time of lay people to work with teachers and technically prepared legally entitled to exercise the teaching levels at the time known as the 1st and 2nd grade.

The widespread transformation in the late 80th and ending the embargo of the federal government at the opening of new degree courses have led to new achievements and investments.

On 05/14/2002, by act of the Governor of the State of Minas Gerais, Dr. Itamar Franco Gautiero, through Decree No. 42583, the International College of the High Paranaíba - FIAP were transformed into the University Center Plateau Araxá - UNIARAXÁ with first possession of the Rectory on 03/06/2002. A milestone in the history of promising regional education.
