The mission is to provide UNIGRAN regional development through the provision of quality education, not only to train professionals who meet the wants and needs of the state, but also critical citizens and qualified for intellectual work and research and contribute to every way for this development.

To fulfill its mission, UNIGRAN prioritizes the improvement of its functions and a careful expansion to accomplish its educational proposal set forth in its Statute.

Based on their nature and design, the Institution has the following objectives:

promote education of the whole person - mind and matter, developing the physical and mental abilities, creating conditions for the practice of freedom and respect for the rights of others;

promote the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate, in order to train people for the job market for the intellectual, academic and research in different fields of knowledge, aiming at regional development and set the company;

encourage different forms of research as a means to qualify for teaching and encourage the discovery of new knowledge, developing science and technology;

promote, preserve and understand the different forms of cultural expression, through overall development of regional and national societies;

provide specific services through the university extension as a way to bring the community into the institution and as a way to integrate it into regional realities;

promote and maintain, through their teaching, research and extension, a critical spirit and truth-seeking, by the cultivation of knowledge in all areas of basic, without limitations or constraints in an environment of freedom, responsibility and respect the principles of justice;

preserve the moral, ethical, civic and Christian, with a view to improving the society in search of equilibrium and welfare of man;

promote the protection of the environment, respecting the dignity of all creatures;

be an institution open to the whole society, thus contributing, with the development of all intellectual faculties, physical and spiritual man.

In the 70 appeared in the region of Grande Dourados the need to provide society with growing and growing, higher educational background in order to raise their professional level, cultural and social. There were few students who had opportunities to relocate to other states, in order to acquire the training they sought and that the region needed. A pioneer institution emerged, with the aim of providing quality higher education to train professionals who would meet this need in the region.

Thus, the Maintainer devised for the creation of the Golden Centre University of Grande Dourados that brought the realization of the dreams of many young people and families in the region to offer undergraduate courses and provide educational and intellectual development in a region that was in sharp population growth .

Competence and scientific update brought prestige and respect for UNIGRAN, giving support to a project that was created bold, especially for a small city - to build its own campus, creating other graduate programs, ostensibly acting on outreach and research, expanding its potential.

In the years following new courses were established, have taken major and have joined the community through cultural events and educational annual and systematically promoted in pre-determined in the school calendar and activities that are already traditional institution such as: Academic Weeks (promoted by all courses), Interdisciplinary Health Congress, Mock Juries, Public Speaking courses, Math and Journey, among other activities promoted, we also highlight: OLIGRAN - Olympiad UNIGRAN; Computer Fair, and Sample Biology.

All these activities are part of an institutional macro-projects to reach all layers of society and establish an institutional culture. They are undoubtedly one of the most developed and are offered not only to scholars but also for the wider community. Thus, besides giving the people access to knowledge, provides the integration between the academic community and the general population, offering them several opportunities to educational and cultural enrichment.

UNIGRAN - University Center of Greater Golden

Today, the institution offers undergraduate, graduate and Lato Sensu stricto sensu, extension activities, training courses and many research projects in progress, the institution is meeting the expectations of local and regional community, enabling its wider community access to knowledge, aware that only through the conquest of knowledge, can solve their fundamental problems.
