The Araguaia College was established in Goiânia in 2001 and its sponsor the Society of Education of Goiás. It has two units, which are offered seven courses, at night. And yet, 17 graduate broadlyon Saturdays (check the link Graduate).
At the Center, Work courses in Administration, Accounting and Education. On the drive Bueno, Biological Sciences (undergraduate and bachelor's degree with an emphasis on health), Environmental Engineering, Journalism and Advertising. From 2011 there will be a Physical Education course.
The Faculty Araguaia is a new institution, dedicated to the intellectual development of mankind and with modern teaching techniques. The proposal is to build an institution for teacher / student based on ethics and values essential for the interaction of human society.
The Faculty Araguaia considers as fundamental values: the human person, the synthesis between science, culture, research and extension, the community experience, the moral standing and technical and scientific capacity. Search still determine the best curriculum that will meet the social needs of their community nationally and regionally.
Their practice is founded on educational principles that point to a sense of participation, where the student is seen as being active, responsible and supportive guy, that seeks to raise awareness through the understanding of phenomena in their entirety.
The Araguaia College undertakes to provide, in the context of the State of Goiás, the academic quality of courses offered, the role of public significance and social function, in line with the project sponsor.
In this trajectory of construction and consolidation of their social role is not only demand, but mainly the conquest of space ethical and socio-political, open to questions from defense to the full exercise of the student and educator of citizenship and human rights.
As an educational institution prioritizes the development of knowledge and skills and competencies needed by students for professional practice, and participation in the labor market in a critical and transformative.
The proposal is to establish the institution in their daily actions regarding a teacher / student based on ethics and values essential for the construction of the concepts of solidarity, trust, sincerity, respect for cultural diversity and ethnic, directing all involved in overcoming a traditional paradigms of teaching bookish professor and dogmatic prioritizing memorization and accumulation of hard knowledge.
It is intended to expand this innovative concept with the concepts of social change, interdisciplinary, cross-cutting in the educational process - through meaningful content, embedded in social reality - can achieve the necessary changes to the social context.
