Commitment, participation and competence
The model of education offered by the Union of Colleges Alfredo Nasser - UNIFAN associates principles that value the students as subjects of their learning, their prior knowledge as a starting point for new acquisitions and the search for cognitive development than their potential psycho-social and with the broader objective of educational action is based on assumptions of higher education under Law No. 9.394/96, which may lead him to the continuous development of skills for a productive life.
Primary purpose of the institution is to contribute to the formation of people able to enter in the various professional sectors, who are able to think about the reality they live in and transform it, and who are able, above all, their freedom and autonomy according to their principles and moral values and social ethics.
This concept guides the formulation of goals, directing interventions methodologies and assessment procedures within a humanizing perspective and constructive, enabling the perception of needs and progress of education in order to put the entire faculty competence in the service of knowledge, and thus create conditions for the students to become better exploited to act on reality.
The proposed institution is based on providing conditions for the integral and harmonious development of the student, placing at its disposal the resources it needs to facilitate his education as part of the cultural heritage created by Man himself, that is the space their education, their communication with each other, their development as being-in-relation.
The School is housed within a booming community, both in terms of population and economic, due to its privileged status with the neighborhood of the capital of Goias state, showing, therefore, large growth rates. The improvement of infrastructure affect the development of the city of Aparecida de Goiania which among others, has public and private educational institutions represented by the State System of Higher Education.
In this context, the College draws upon itself the responsibility to provide students with the necessary conditions for it to develop according to their aptitudes and interests, assisting him in preparation for the exercise of citizenship, so that it becomes able to participate in the citizen in social life and in decisions that concern the development of community and country.
The choice by offering vocational training enables one of the goals of the College by meeting the needs of the modern world in constant change. The working world makes new demands at all times and professionals need a solid background in both humanities and science and technology so they can face the new challenges brought by the day.
The process of training, unlike the past which privileged content, today and tomorrow, should help the student acquire the ability to learn as an ongoing process, since it is essential to be in constant contact with new sciences, methodologies and concepts . Because education is an ongoing process throughout life, too professional, not just related to time and attending school.

HISTORY
The UNIFAN - Faculty Alfredo Nasser, born of the efforts of members of the Association Aparecidense Education - EFA, especially the figure of its President, Professor Alcides Ribeiro Filho, a pioneer in education in the city of Aparecida de Goiania. It consists of 14/11/1970, the date of the foundation, as the first Rules of Procedure, approved by the EEC on 06/11/1973. And with three classrooms set up its small school that was named Gym Alfredo Nasser, named after the illustrious politician Alfredo Nasser, who helped build the history of Goias in 1974 was named Educandário Alfredo Nasser. The development of the school followed the same proportion to population growth in the city, which received over the past 30 years, a population of 435,323 inhabitants, estimated by the IBGE in December 2005. During this time, the School has multiplied in physical spaces, courses and students, up to 2000 with the introduction of courses in literature and pedagogy, leading to Alfredo Nasser School of Higher Education - EANES, name changed to 30/04 / 2005 to Faculty Alfredo Nasser - UNIFAN, centered on the philosophy of quality, commitment, participation and competence. The prospect of the School is to establish the institutional improvement through constant reflection, analysis in search of goals, philosophy and politics to possible redefinitions. The big goal is to build the image of the College as an institution of excellence, committed to those who are the reason for the school: the students.
