The Universidade Paulista, UNIP, recognized by Decree No. 550/88, started its activities on November 9, 1988. It was formed from the Unified Institute Paulista, IUP, the Institute for Engineering Education Paulista, IEEP, and the Institute of Dentistry Paulista, IOP, the first of those authorized to work in 1972, initially with courses in Media, Literature, Pedagogy and Psychology.

Today, because of the evolution process, the UNIP, through a modern academic proposal, has been expanding its activities by various campusesin order to prepare highly qualified human resources demanded by national development policy.
The UNIP promotes the formation of the students and update their skills for a changing society through quality education, advanced technology and headed toward the future in the areas of humanities, social, health and accurate. Its main purpose is to promote the development potential of the students, establishing conditions that allow an active insertion in the labor market and creative problem solving that the company offers.

The Brazilian reality, which deserves special attention by the UNIP, which also makes an emphasis on programs for postgraduate studies. These are dedicated to improving its own faculty as well as to meet the needs of the community in general, since, in addition to training professionals in all areas, to develop research that will generate scientific discoveries and technological innovations, the UNIP proposes learn to meet the demands made by the modern world.
Thus, the Paulista University has been recognized as an important center of production of knowledge and its dissemination to a larger number of people, through teaching, research, extension and post-graduation.


The Universidade Paulista - UNIP in undergraduate education has its main activities developed by teachers aware of their social responsibilities in seeking solutions to problems that plague the daily lives of communities.
The technological and cultural development and scientific progress, esteem is in harmony and symbiosis between companies and universities, and granting the latter the professional training of the future. Aware of its responsibilities in the national context, the UNIP is projected for the future by relying on some basic goals:
form themselves into a professional's recovery center, preserving and enhancing the specialized values that dignify;

promote an intensive exchange of information and services to society by offering systematic knowledge and skills and receive in return information that feeds the research and extension;

establish itself as an agent of transformation and thus contribute to human growth, intellectual aspects, moral and material;

promote the comprehensive training of professionals graduating from their courses in order to respond to the concerns and needs of man and modern society, with the realization of educational activities and research that emphasize interdisciplinary nature of knowledge;

used a methodology of teaching and a conscious policy and effectively graduate, often discussed with experts and educators;

contribute to the implementation of a socioeconomic order based on sovereignty of peoples, human dignity, free enterprise, the values of ethics and pluralism of ideas;

provide quality education through integrated actions between institutes and senior management, with close monitoring of activities performed, development of human resources and improving the material conditions of the campuses.


The various courses offered by the University Paulista are distributed at colleges. In the chart, the institutes are linked to the Vice Dean and these, in turn, to the Rectory. Each Institute has its respective direction, and each course is also accompanied by a coordinator.
Institute of Social Sciences and Communication (ICSC)

The Institute of Social Sciences and Communication - ICSC) form professionals able to act in society in an innovative and effective. The concepts taught to the students developing their skills of discernment to judge and decide on alternatives, and develop critical thinking, allowing you to bind actions and sense of responsibility.
Regarding the formation of a social nature, the ICSC seeks opportunities that allow student interaction with working groups in society through lectures, conferences, company visits, internships, seminars, interdisciplinary programs and other activities characterized by the exchange of knowledge .

In the professional field, the ICSC is concerned with the future professional training for the full exercise of their functions in the labor market and society as a whole, through a joint process of learning, practical activities and technical qualifications.
The Institute of Social Sciences and Communication presents, graduation, the following courses:
Social Communication (Journalism Skills and Advertising);
Social Studies (Skills in Geography and History);
Letters (BA and qualifications and translator in English / Portuguese);
Advertising and Marketing;
International Relations.
Institute for Science and Technology (ICET)

The Institute for Science and Technology - ICET search through theoretical and practical quality, direct the scientific potential of the student for the challenges of science. It also seeks to achieve the highest level of technological improvement and thus training for the labor market specialists and able to meet the full range of problems chosen specialty.

The main purpose of the Institute is to promote technological development and to establish conditions that allow the student to insert a permanent and active participation in the labor market, solving, creativity with the problems that society offers.
Upon graduation, the Institute for Science and Technology offers the following courses:
Architecture and Urbanism;

Industrial Design;
Aeronautical Engineering;
Civil Engineering;
Computer Engineering;
Control Engineering and Automation (Mechatronics);
Production Engineering;
Electrical Engineering (Types: Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunications with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering);

Mathematics (BA and BA with emphasis in Computer Science);
Information Systems.
Institute of Health Sciences (ICS)

The Institute of Health Sciences - ICS, in view of the professional qualifications of their students, active teaching courses in health care, with a critical vision of Brazilian reality.

The Institute of Humanities- ICH focuses on excellence and quality in vocational training in human relations, responding to the immediate demands of our time, anticipating the future and monitoring the developments and techniques, through diversification of disciplines, approximation theory, practice and the special attention given to the globalized nature of the university.
