The Grupo Cruzeiro do Sul Educacional was originated in 1965 and is currently composed by the Colégio Cruzeiro do Sul (SP-SP), Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul (SP-SP), Centro Universitário Módulo (Caraguatatuba-SP) and the Centro Universitário do Distrito Federal (DF), gathering approximately 34 thousand students, 1000 teachers and 850 staff employees distributed over the 8 campi.
The Group strategic differential is the fact of performing with different institutions, trademarks and positioning, according to the specific markets and the cities where maintains the educational establishments characteristics. This is what gives the Group a unique strategic flexibility if compared to other Brazilian educational groups.
However, there is a complete identity between the Cruzeiro do Sul Educacional institutions, since, in addition to adopting the graphic symbols that give them a visual identity, they have in common the fact of maintaining the same ethical principles and education ideals, what is translated into the best academic indicators among the Brazilian institutions, which is:
the greater number of master and PhD courses among the Brazilian private institutions;
the greater number of Pibic/CNPq Scientific Initiation scholarships among the private institutions;
the best Enade-Brasil Geography course;
the best Pibic/CNPq Scientific Initiation Program among the São Paulo State private institutions;
the greater number of ISI Web of Science international scientific production among the São Paulo State private institutions;
the best Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil/DF [The Brazilian Bar Association] examination approval index among the Federal District private institutions;
the best Enade average among the higher education institutions in the São Paulo State north coast.
Such characteristics and achievements are the result of a compromised, structured and shared management between the founder teachers, academic community members (students, staff and teachers) and the recognized market professionals.
Brief History
The group history began in 1965, when a group of young teachers joined to create a college in the city of São Paulo, in the district of São Miguel Paulista: the Colégio Cruzeiro do Sul.
With the number of students increase and new perspectives, in 1972, the higher education courses were authorized with the creation of the Higher Education School and gradually, new courses were implemented.
In 1993, the serious work and dedication return was achieved, with the Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul recognition.
In 2001, the University extended its geographic activity area, with the opening of Analia Franco campus, a noble São Paulo city district in large-scale expansion. The Liberdade campus started in 2004, in the city central region.
In October 2007, another huge step was taken, with the Centro Universitario Módulo acquisition, the largest and most traditional higher education institution in the São Paulo state north coast. |
