The Salesian University Center of São Paulo is the heritage of the Salesian Congregation. Called the Society of St. Francis de Sales, the congregation was founded in Italy by St. John Bosco in 1859 with the primary purpose of working on the formation of youth.
Don Bosco was an Italian priest who dedicated his life to working with young people. Its educational project, called Preventive System is adopted in schools and other Salesian.
Reason, religion and loving kindness are the values of the Preventive and loving kindness is the key element of pedagogy. This Italian word is not literal translation into Portuguese and is viewed as kindness, affection, love. These values should guide all actions of the Salesians in schools and social works which the congregation holds almost everywhere in the world.
Among the educational institutions is the Salesian Salesian University Center of São Paulo, created in November 1997. Indeed, the UNISAL born much earlier, and has its origins in the former Salesian School of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Lorraine, inaugurated in March 1952.
In 1993, the Salesians have created the Integrated College, joining the faculties of the Salesian Lorraine, Americana, Campinas and São Paulo. Four years later they formed the UNISAL.
The Salesian University Center of São Paulo is an educational institution of Catholic character, accredited by the Ministry of Education, through a Presidential Decree, on 24 November 1997. It is maintained by the Sacred Heart High School, an association consisting of civil and religious Salesian religious, character education, cultural, charitable and philanthropic assistance, founded on June 5, 1885, with headquarters in Sao Paulo.
The minister UNISAL sequential courses, undergraduate, post-graduation lato sensu and stricto sensu (master's degree and specialization), upgrading and extension of its four units, located in Americana, which is headquartered in Campinas, Sao Paulo and Lorena .
Programs Masters of Law and Education are recommended by CAPES? Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel Ministry of Education.
