Since the forefront as one of its main attributes and sustainability as a commitment (of the 20 Brazilian institutions signed the Global Compact), there are more than 38 years UNIMONTES set against the backdrop of Santos, offering innovative courses created from the needs the region.
So with the creation of the Tourism course in 1973, being the 2nd of the country, and also the graduation of Oil and Gas Technology, 1st created in the region. It has three academic units and more than eight thousand students, distributed among the undergraduate courses, postgraduate broadly and Extension in the areas of Social Sciences and Law, Communication, Design, Education, Engineering, Hospitality, Environment and Natural Resources , Business, and Port Health
The UNIMONTES also stands out for its bold infrastructure, and the only from Santos to offer their students a lab equipped with Apple Macintosh computers, a modern complex of communication, equipped with TV studio, radio, photograph, Wi- thread in all academic units, classrooms 100% air conditioned, the 1st and only laboratory of logistics in the region, the CEDESP - Centre for Personal and Professional Development, which facilitates the access of students to the labor market, with vacancies for internships and jobs, in addition to CETAS - Screening Center for Wild Animals.
Has a staff of teachers with master's and doctor, oriented toward helping the university to develop their professional and human potential. Likewise, in November 2008, the company UNIMONTES presented its new rector, the aeronautical engineer Ozires Silva, one of the most prominent figures in Brazilian and international scenario.
With this attitude vibrant and innovative, UNIMONTES consolidates one of its major commitments to society: the construction of a permanent learning environment and inspiring learning that respects the characteristics of each student.

As a way to improve welfare in the workplace and to promote greater integration among the professionals of the institution, UNIMONTES has a Charter of Values.
The document was created with the participation of employees of the college, who had the opportunity to contribute their personal beliefs and values, since the process was entirely voluntary. There were several rounds of dialogue for those involved point out which values are most appropriate for the institution.
At the end of the construction of the Charter of Values, five principles were set to base the conduct of all company employees, whether teachers or members of the technical-administrative. They are:
Respect - You always act considering the limits of freedom itself and others. With dignity and tolerance, sensitive to the ethical principles of human life. It would never do to others what you do not like us.
Commitment - is to act with responsibility, dedication and cooperation, integrated with our culture, values and goals, strengthening the personal, professional and social.
Transparency - is practicing and promoting the truth being consistent in feel, think, speak and act with freedom to express ideas, doubts and disagreements always respecting the other's opinion.
Innovation - It is the courage and boldness to create new practices and new ways, through creative processes that generate growth, development and evolution of the people, organization and community.
Recognition - To feel valued and appreciate the actions of others and the group as a whole, considering their skills and competence, efforts and results that promote improved quality of life, personal and institutional development.
