Fundação Santo André, public institution and private law, was established in 1962 through the Municipal Law No. 1840, the Municipality of Santo André. Its purpose was to keep the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences (FAEC), also originated by the Municipality in 1953. The FAEC was the first school of higher education in the Greater ABC and started its activities on the premises of the Technical School Júlio de Mesquita. In 1966, Preefeitura authorized the installation of the second unit to be sent by the Foundation: the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters (FAFIL).
In the late 80's, the institution created his high school, the College Foundation of St. Andrew. With educational proposal based on the principles of knowledge construction and installed on campus, a fact that encourages the integration with the academic environment.
The Graduate Center was founded in 1990. Update with courses, specialization and MBA - Master Business Administration. The goal is to meet the needs of professional training and contribute to the training of professionals committed to social welfare.
In late 1990, began the transformation of isolated faculties, and FAFIL FAEC in University Center, at which time the third option was also created, the Faculty of Engineering Celso Daniel - FAENG. Currently, the Foundation is the sponsor of the Santo André University Center, home to three colleges and the college.
