40 years of tradition
With over 40 years of tradition in the Steel Valley, the University Center of Eastern Ontario (Unileste-MG) was born to a proposal of humanistic education and professional development in favor of social, economic and cultural development in eastern Minas.
Founded in 1969 by the Congregation Fathers of Labor, the institution has developed to establish itself as the largest educational complex of the Steel Valley, part of a network of higher education institutions and colleges in the Federal District, State of Tocantins, and eastern Minas general, maintained by the Union of Education and Culture Brasiliense (UBEC).
Currently, Unileste has 30 undergraduate, 30 postgraduate courses, Masters in Industrial Engineering, plus five options in undergraduate technology. Divided into two campuses, the students have a library system that covers over 100 thousand copies, a Technology Center with about 200 computers and free shipping over 120 laboratories available for academic activities.
The academic and professional qualifications of teachers of the institution reflects the excellence sought by Unileste throughout its history. Today, a considerable number of teachers have master's and doctoral level, resulting in a rate above the levels required for titration of the establishment of a University Center. Not coincidentally, in 2009, was considered the best Unileste Higher Education Institution in eastern Minas, according to the General Index of Courses (IGC), produced by the Ministry of Education (MEC).

UBEC
With the aim of providing an education to the Federal District settled by his ideals, a group of Catholic congregations, with broad international experience in education, created in 1974, the Catholic Faculty of Humanities, held the first EU Brasiliense of Education and Culture ( UBEC), founded two years earlier.
Constituted as civil associations, religious, private law and characterized by care, educational, philanthropic and non-profit organizations, the UBEC is integrated at present by the union of five provinces and one religious diocese, province of Porto Alegre De La Salle (De La Salle Brothers ), the Province of St. Joseph's Congregation of the Sacred Stigmata of Our Lord Jesus Christ (Stigmatine Fathers and Brothers), the Central Province of northern Brazil (Marist Brothers), the Inspectorate St. John Bosco (Salesians of Don Bosco), the Mother Mazzarello Inspectorate (Salesian Sisters), and the Diocese of Itabira / Colonel Fabriciano.
The UBEC, which constantly reinvesting in education, maintained today, higher education institutions and colleges in the Federal District, State of Tocantins and eastern Minas Gerais. These institutions form the Catholic Group in Brasilia, which has the charisma of their founding saints and teachers, the inspiration to continue the work started by them for centuries.
FPGA
Dr. Geraldo Abreu Perlingeiro Foundation Geraldo Abreu Perlingeiro Facility (GEF) was established by the University Center of Eastern Ontario (Unileste-MG) on June 30, 1995. It is a civil entity with legal personality under private law, non-profit organizations with administrative, financial and real estate.
Initially, the FPGA was intended to contribute to the achievement of health care services and financial support to students, workers and poor community, and assist in professional development of faculty and administrative staff of Unileste-MG. After a year of operation, the Foundation Perlingeiro Geraldo Abreu was recognized as a public utility by the city of Coronel Fabriciano.
In February 2006, gained new statute broadened its purpose, starting to act in the provision of educational services, research and extension, as well as institutional development, science and technology. Currently, partnerships between FPGA and Unileste-MG enable the provision of various training courses and research projects and extension, contributing to the professional improvement of the population of the Steel Valley

To achieve its goal of promoting social and cultural development remains the UBEC, and University Center of the East of Minas Gerais - MG-Unileste, Schools of Education. Currently part of Unileste-MG System of Education:
Father of Man University College Primary School, High School and Vocational Education;
Vocational Technical School of Management, in partnership with SEBRAE, and
Educational Center of Eastern Catholic of Minas Gerais with Early Childhood Education, Elementary and Secondary Education. |
