The Educational Association of Araras, sponsor of the University Center Macaws "Dr. Edmund Ulson - UNAR - started as the Faculty of Sciences and Letters of Araras, founded in December 1971.
The Association of Educational Araras was born of the idealism of a group of teachers who, since 1953, maintained a secondary school, named Commercial College Count Silvio Alvares Penteado. Sensitive to the needs of youth and the general population of the region in the development of industry, trade and other sectors of the components of regional progress, and few opportunities to meet the demanding learning in higher education, decided to establish such institution.
In pursuit of excellence in providing higher education, the institution has placed itself as the cradle of the future professional training, offering facilities, laboratories and library quality within standards such that, combined with the competence and responsibilities of faculty, has offered students the means to compete with the labor market efficiency and ample professional and personal fulfillment.
The UNAR offers undergraduate courses that prepare individuals for academic or professional career. They are organized into:
Bachelor - provides theoretical and practical training, based on sound scientific content. The duration of a bachelor's degree is usually four to five yearswhose qualification allows the holder to exercise a high level profession.
Bachelor - aims to train teachers. The duration of a degree course is 3 or 4 years. for those who want to join in Basic Education.
Technology - Forma professionals, in order to meet the immediate needs of the labor market. The average duration of a technological Curos is 2 to 4 years., whose emphasis is to provide conclusive of expertise to pursue the chosen career.
In UNAR, the educational projects of the various undergraduate courses offered, in essence, are consistent with the present, marked by technological advances and demanding of a new professional profile. Therefore, without losing sight of the humanistic education of their students, the graduation reconcile the traditional and the modern, printing to teaching the constant search for knowledge, the acquisition of skills and competencies that enable them to reflect, analyze, make attitudes to the problems of the contemporary world. If on one hand the general and specific training underlies the development of curricula, on the other, we never forget the cultivation of values and ethical and moral principles. |
