HISTORY OF THE INSTITUTION
The INTEGRATED COLLEGE OF SANTA FE SOUTH born through the Municipal Law. 2000 of 06.01.1998, with the Consolidated Rules of International College of Santa Fe do Sul approved as Opinion No. EEC. 614/98, due to the merger of two other top institutions: the Faculty of Physical Education High Araraquarense and Faculty of Science and Letters.
The Faculty of Physical Education High Araraquarense installed through the Federal Decree. 70.192/72 and maintained by ASEC - Association-Santa Fe sulense of Education and Culture was born as a regional desire, considering that the nearest course of physical education was based in San Carlos, 400 km away and the Decree-Law 705/69 made it mandatory the practice of physical education at all levels of education.
In 1976, the Municipal Law. 1.118/76, approved by the CNE No. 181/77 created the Municipal Foundation for Education and Culture in Santa Fe - South FUNEC. The National Council of Education authorized the change of sponsor for the ASEC FUNEC as CNE No. 2.950/76.
Thus, the Faculty of Physical Education High Araraquarense now be maintained by the Municipal Foundation for Education and Culture in Santa Fe - South FUNEC.
The Faculty of Science and Arts were established with the Education Course, through the Federal Decree. 96.996/88.
The Integrated Faculties of Santa Fé do Sul is an isolated building on Higher Education, maintained by the Municipal Foundation for Education and Culture in Santa Fe - South FUNEC. His historical constitution began in the 70s, shortly after the reform of higher education in Brazil occurred in the 1960s, by Law 5540/68.
At that time the education was configured in two models: the Universities and Colleges of Isolated, aimed at training technicians, to meet the demands of the labor market, especially in education. The purpose of the military regime that ruled the country was configured with the theme development and national security, had the expansion of higher education. Art. 5 of the Statute of the Municipal Foundation for Education and Culture in Santa Fe South versa the following objectives:
I - Education, extension, research and dissemination of culture in general and in particular the technical and scientific development, to elevate the cultural and educational level of the municipality and region;
II - to keep the schools now existing and create additional education students, not basic or above, as well as several units for the exercise of practical activities, science and technology, provided that the necessary resources for such purposes;
III - provide resources to conduct scientific research and promote its dissemination;
IV - to keep human and material resources so that your school has organized collection of books that meets the needs of research and information of each unit, available to faculty, and community;
V - integrate available resources, create and participate in partnerships with other agencies under direct administration of the municipality, the Union and the states, programs, projects and funds to promote living and assistance to human beings through public policy on social action .
It is noteworthy that one of the objectives proposed in the Statute of the Foundation, expressed also in art. 5, section II, is to keep the schools, now existing and create additional primary and secondary education or higher, as well as several units for the exercise of practical activities, science and technology, provided that the necessary resources for such purposes.
The Municipal Foundation for Education and Culture in Santa Fe - South FUNEC, provided that public entity is under the jurisdiction of the State Board of Education of Sao Paulo which was reorganized by State Law. 10403 of July 6, 1971 granting it, competence, based on item XI of art. 2, to authorize the installation and operation of new courses in institutes of higher learning isolated city.
The Law of Directives and Bases of National Education, Federal Law no. 9394, to December 20, 1996 in his art. 61 shows that:
The training of education to meet the goals in different levels and types of education and the characteristics of each phase of development of the students, will be grounds:
I - the relationship between theory and practice, including through capacity in service;
II - use of training and previous experience in educational institutions and other activities.
Art. 62 notes:
The training of teachers for working in basic education will be far higher-level, in courses, full degree at universities and institutes of higher education, admitted as a minimum qualification for the practice of teaching in early childhood education and four first grades of elementary school, offered at the average level in Normal mode.
Art. 63 states:
Institutes of Higher Education shall maintain:
I - courses with professional tutors for basic education, including the Superior Normal Course, designed to train teachers for early childhood education and for the first grades of primary education;
II - educational program for holders of diplomas of higher education who wish to devote to basic education;
III - continuing education program for professionals of various levels of education.
The Determination of the State Board of Education no. 07/2000 and statements 21/2002, 22/2002 and 27/2003 established standards for accreditation of Higher Education Institutes and deal with the training of teachers in basic school education system in the State of São Paulo.
By recognizing the requirements requested in the legislation, the Municipal Foundation for Education and Culture in Santa Fe do Sul, taking steps to comply with them petitioned the State Board of Education Accreditation of the Institute of Education degrees offered and the payment of which was authorized by Ordinance EEC / GP no. 169/2004 of 20 October 2004.
Currently the International College of Santa Fe do Sul offer fourteen (14) Courses Undergraduate Degree and Degree level and 03 (three) Colleges of Technology:
