In 1994, the Council Cenecista College Our Lady of Mount Caramel met to create the Community College of Cenecista Unai - INESC, proposing, after research of interest by the regional community, the development of three projects to be submitted to the Ministry of Education and Sports and the National Council of Education:

The Institute for Higher Education Cenecista - INESC, headquartered in Unai, Minas Gerais, is an isolated private university, maintained by the National Campaign for Community Schools - CNEC, legal entity of private non-profit, with this headquarters and jurisdiction in Brasilia-DF, recognized as a public utility by decree 36505 of November 20, 1954, with its Cenecista Community Council, registered with the Clerk of the Statute 2 Office of Deeds and Documents and Legal Persons of the Federal District, under order number 553, Book AF-2, protocol number 40339, Book A-2
MISSION
The production and dissemination of scientific and philosophical knowledge in various areas of study, particularly in the Social Sciences and Technology, coupled with the encouragement of artistic expression and dissemination of culture, aimed at human development in general and in particular the training of professionals high quality, ethical responsibility and entrepreneurial skills to contribute to the promotion of social and economic development, tackling the problems that mark the Brazilian reality.
OBJECTIVES
For the purposes of INESC are fully met during this five year period, the following objectives in line with the goals of CNEC, are worked:
encourage cultural creation and development of the scientific spirit and reflective thought;
Training graduates in different fields of knowledge, qualified for inclusion in the professional sectors and to participate in the development of Brazilian society, and assist in training;
encourage research work and scientific research aimed at developing science and technology and the creation and dissemination of culture, and thereby develop an understanding of man and the environment they live in;
promote the spread of cultural, scientific and technical communicating knowledge through teaching, publications or other forms of communication;
arouse the desire to constantly improve cultural and professional enabling the integration of knowledge are acquired and systematized;
encourage knowledge of this world's problems, particularly national and regional specialist services to this community and establish a reciprocal relationship;
promote the extension, open to participation of the population in order to disseminate the achievements and benefits of cultural creation and scientific and technological research generated in the institution;
structured courses to keep in line with the labor market and the needs of regional development;
administer extension courses, programmed according to the peculiarities and local and regional needs;
their knowledge of world problems, especially the regional and national as well as the community in which it operates;
build partnerships and continuous exchanges with similar institutions and the like, with a view to democratizing access to education and socialization of its benefits.
