Mission
"Providing education to human development, technological, scientific and cultural, qualifying professionals committed to the welfare of society."
The story begins in 1973 FAZU when ABCZ - Brazilian Association of Zebu Breeders - realized the need for training of professionals specializing in zebutecnia, and instituted the Educational Foundation for the Development of Agricultural Sciences - FUNDAGRI, nonprofit, for create and maintain higher education sector in the agricultural sciences. In 1975, FUNDAGRI created the School of Zoology of Uberaba - FAZU.
35 years ago to form FAZU professionals able to meet market demands in crop science and 10 years in the areas of Humanities, Exact and Applied Social.
Institutional developments in the provision of courses:
1975 - Course of Animal Science - Faculty of Zoology of Uberaba - FAZU
1989 - Course of Agronomy - the college was renamed to the Faculty of Agronomy and Zoology of Uberaba - FAZU
1997 - Agreement between the University of Uberaba - UNIUBE, ABCZ, FUNDAGRI FAZU and established the course of Veterinary Medicine
2000 - Course of Food Engineering
2001 - Bachelor of Portuguese / English or Portuguese / Spanish and Bilingual Executive Secretarial Course
2002 - Bachelor of Computing - the college is now named ASSOCIATED COLLEGES OF UBERABA - FAZU.
2004 / 5 - The FAZU is accredited to offer courses for Post-graduation courses in the distance as Ordinance No.. 2787 of 17.08.2005, published in the Gazette of 18/8/2005. The application for reaccreditation is processed in the SEED process no. 20080002227 11/12/2008.
2006 - Course Information Systems
2009 - FAZU was submitted to the External Evaluation of Higher Education Institutions, held by the Ministry of Education - MEC, getting the grade 4 on a scale of 0 to 5.
Extension Activities, Project Gate Adentro, Field Days, Clinical Technology, Scientific Day, Storytelling, congresses, symposiums, seminars, workshops, meetings with writers, Activities of Undergraduate Research and / or Research and Improvement Courses, Update and Post Graduation are developed by FAZU, to provide the professional future broad knowledge, dynamic and current.
The infrastructure of the campus of FAZU occupies an area of 186 hectares and allows the participation of university students in theoretical and practical activities, combining the actions related to teaching, research and extension and encouraging compliance with the institutional mission FAZU.
Social Responsibility
The educational work done in FAZU in teaching, research and extension have as guiding principles, guarantee the rights and participation of the whole society. Thus, the college is developing activities that allow social inclusion, cultural and environmental also working in partnership with ABMES - Maintainers of the Brazilian Association of Higher Education, with concrete actions related to social responsibility in keeping the IDP - Institutional Development Plan, creating spaces Teaching Responsible for evidence in several ways:
- WORKSHOPS: computer, drawing and painting and storytelling for children charities;
- BIB INCLUSION: directed to the elderly and people with special needs, such as children APAE (Parents and Friends of Exceptional Children). Several activities are developed as a workshop for painting, drawing, origami, storytelling applications of gymnastics.
- Storytelling: the permanent group of storytelling in the Children's hospital in Uberaba;
- UNITED TROT: held twice a year, always in partnership with an NGO or Institute's intention to educate freshmen about the importance of joint actions providing the integration between them. This activity is carried out various campaigns to collect food, school supplies, clothes, toys, toiletries or cleaning for subsequent donation to charities, donating blood, establishment of public gardens or community gardens, recreational activities at daycare centers, nursing homes and hospitals ; educational talks about everyday topics. |
