The Presbyterian College Gammon - FAGAMMON - is an entity of higher education maintained by the Presbyterian Gammon. Since 1990, offers courses in Physical Education (BA) and Administration (BA), both recognized by the Ministry of Education, Tourism (BA, with emphasis on ecotourism) and Information Systems (BS).
Lavras, nicknamed "Athens Mineira, which Assis Chateaubriand called him" one of the capitals of the country's intelligence, "maintains courses in higher education since the year 1908 when the Rev. Samuel Rhea Gammon, with the decisive support of Dr. Benjamin Harris Hunnicutt, created the Agricultural School of the Evangelical Institute - former name of Gammon - precursor of the former ESAL, Lavras Federal University today. The tradition of higher education in SE is nearly a century. The city was among the first to offer higher education in Brazil.
Students from several cities of Minas Gerais and other states of the federation make up the student body which, added to the other institutions Lavras exceeds the number of 6000 students only higher education and graduate. Students at FAGAMMON residing in distant cities by 100 km, turn to Lavras daily in search of his training.
