FACULTY OF SOCIAL SERVICE PAULO, SAO PAULO

The Faculty of Social Paulista - Sao Paulo, was founded on March 2, 1940. It is therefore one of the pioneers of Social Service of Brazil.
He was part of the foundation of PUC-SP. In the 70s, became independent, thus taking its pioneering role in the national context of the profession.
With strong presence in Brazilian society, he served in different segments of human-social field in Brazil.
It is the School of Social Work to more social workers trained in the country, national and international reference in the teaching of social services.

FACULTY OF SOCIAL WELFARE OF SÃO PAULO SÃO CAETANO DO SUL

The Paulista School of Social Service of Sao Caetano do Sul, as an institution of PUC-SP and SP-FAPSS, was founded on January 17, 1966. It is the first higher education institution established in Sao Caetano do Sul and the second in the ABC.
Proud to have formed the majority of professionals that works in large companies of ABC, city halls, in public, private and religious organizations, state departments and municipal health, hospital networks, foundations, in the educational environment, in actions in defense of social rights, justice, in NGOs and in actions for access by the inclusion of all goods and services offered by the company.

Courses

The FAPSS offers graduate course in Social Work form Social Workers, Various Postgraduate Sensu Lato and many courses Professional Training.
With a program tailored to market needs, has been working over the past 63 years to train skilled professionals and concerned with social issues.

The Social Worker acts in planning, consulting, research, administration, programming and implementation of projects involving the public sectors, business, private entities, nongovernmental organizations, and individuals, groups and communities.


COMMITMENT TO SOCIAL SERVICES

With so many changes that happen in the Brazilian educational system and world, the Faculties of Social Paulista, Sao Paulo and Sao Caetano do Sul are always aware of everything that happens, and it involves social work.
Highlights in the area, the two colleges are committed to the profession, seeking their own solutions to identify the needs that students and teachers in an integrated manner.
The result appears to recognize the good performance of the professionals they trained.

NUMBERS FAPSS, SÃO PAULO SÃO CAETANO AND SOUTH

Over the years, dating back to the founding in 1940, the College graduated more than 6000 professionals. These, in addition to acting in different Brazilian states, has pursued the profession in other countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, Chile, USA, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan and international agencies, among others, the UN.

ATTENDANCE AND EVALUATION OF PROFESSIONAL FOR GRADUATES OF SP AND SCS FAPSS

The FAPSS today is considered the School of Social Work with the largest number of students from Brazil and professional social workers trained by them.
It is worth saying that most social workers trained by FAPSS operate successfully in their professional field.
Most students who matured in companies or public institutions, private sector housing, welfare and public agencies, most often are hired after receiving the title of Social Worker. Surely this is due to the quality of education theory and practice taught by the faculties at educational project developed and defended by ethical principles in the process of social intervention.
By way of information, the best FAPSS were classified in the last contest for Specialists in Public Social Services, Social Work and Social Development, 2008, sponsored by the City of São Paulo.
He had 72 professional social workers, trained for it, listed and approved in the 400 vacancies in a universe of about 14 000 candidates participating in the Contest, student ranked No. 1. Among the first five approved, 3 were formed by the Social Workers FAPSS.
The notes of the ENADE two Colleges were as follows:
FAPSS-SP: Note 3, the same as good.
FAPSS-SCS: Note 4, the same great concept.
The professional social workers, trained by FAPSS, commonly, mostly, they fall in a contest in which they participate, whether public, private, service, health, housing, education, NGOs and others.

PROPER TRAINING

The course in Social Work at the two schools is constantly updated, seeking what is best to properly structure the curriculum.

The library was designed to encourage the fulfillment of literature.

CULTURAL LIFE

PRESENCE IN THE COMMUNITY

Besides opening their doors to the outside community, the FAPSS contribute to it, performing extension courses, cooperative collectors of recyclable material, care to needy people and overseeing manifestations of social and artistic, in different regions.

BEYOND GRADUATION

The colleges also offer post-graduation lato sensu, family therapy, human resources management, neurolinguistic, speed reading courses and retention, communication, theater and others.

The profession of Social Work is regulated by Federal Law No. 8662 of June 7, 1993, which regulates the profession and other related issues.

TABLE CURRICULUM / EDUCATIONAL PROJECT

The curriculum framework and teaching project of the Faculties prioritizes the area of human knowledge, and social issues in their fundamental and primary reference point. Means: The curriculum developed by the Colleges, but also taking into account the process of economic globalization, social and cultural, provides the professional future, a solid basis for critical reflection, giving the instrument that enables him to intervene in social reality .
His pedagogical or curricular framework consist of: Philosophical Foundations of Social Theory in Sociology, General Psychology, Economics, Anthropology, Methodological and Theoretical Foundations of Social Work, Foundations of Research, Communication in Social Work, Classes and Social Movements, Ethics Social Service, Labour and Social Issues, Planning, Public Health, Fundamentals of Professional Practice, Political Theory, Social Psychology, Social-Economic Training and Public Brazilian Law and Social Legislation, Social Management, Social Work and End of Course ( TCC).

DURATION OF COURSE

The Social Service course lasts for four years, and is a requirement. It developed in the evening, from 19.10 to 22.30, with 4 classes, Monday through Friday.
The total workload of the course is 2,880 hours.
The workload of the compulsory internship for 3 and 4 years is 530 hours. Together internship and class hours, we have a total of 3,626 hours.
The payment of the course will occur in a minimum of 4 years and a maximum of seven years.
An essential condition for the issuance of a diploma student achievement by working Completion of course (CBT).
