The history of the Faculty of Medicine of Batley - FAME began in the late 60s, going through various transformations in the country, including the institution itself. Accredited by Federal Decree 68,546 of 04/26/1971, has its headquarters in the city of Batley, Minas Gerais, is located at Praça Presidente Antônio Carlos, No. 08, the neighborhood. It is maintained by the Foundation Lafayette Jose Bonifacio de Andrade - FUNJOB.

With nearly four decades of existence, is an established institution in the city, having already built its identity, and distinguishes itself within the region for its innovative, bringing you a brand-edge, with the goal of always looking for quality in education he teaches. To remain consolidated in FAME follows its principles and values, establishing goals consistent with institutional goals and standards established by the competent organs of the Federal Education for the School of Medicine;

Based on the above, the management adopts the basic principle of academic training general practitioners are qualified to provide comprehensive care to individuals and the community, being able to act in health promotion and disease prevention. Professionals with ethical, critical, reflective, humanistic vision and technical competence to act in the health-disease process in all levels of care, with a sense of social responsibility, commitment to citizenship, and attentive to their scientific update.


The organization of didactic situations of teaching and learning has as main objective to promote the relationship between knowledge and values of democratic society in pursuit of professional competence that you want.

The theoretical training includes activities performed in the context of the classroom, the theoretical and practical activity in specific fields of expertise in the teaching institution and the municipality, and the activities of eminently practical (Boarding), ie, services provided to communities in cities where the students carry their teaching practice. Faced with such significance that is peculiar to the teaching process should be geared not only for the act of teaching quality, but, primarily, for the act of learning significantly.
