Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras Carlos Queiroz
Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo, Brazil

University description (as per official university website)

The seeds of Anglo were launched during the 19th century when, in 1894, the Portuguese Antônio Guerreiro educator came to Brazil and founded the city of Sao Paulo, the Warrior Gym Teacher - renamed for him after the First World War, Anglo Gym -Latin, in homage to the allies.

Soon after the Revolution of 1932, Celestino Rodrigues, young engineering student who had entered a place at the Polytechnic School, University of São Paulo, and Leo Bonfim, a professor at Poly who prepared candidates for the exam of the school, joined and installed in the building of the gymnasium, a preparatory course which was called Anglo-Latino.

In the late '30s, with the death of Professor. Warrior, his heirs sold the premises to Leo, Celestino and other teachers, who expanded the gym and opened the College Anglo-Latino. In the following decade, the Anglo-Latin has established itself as the best private school in São Paulo and the best preparation course for Exact.

In 1950, seeing opportunities in the construction, Celestino and Leo decided to close the gym and college. Students transferred to other educational institutions and sold their buildings.

Prof. Faiguenboim Simon, who ran the Anglo Course since the end of World War II (1947), invited the teachers and Emilio Gabriades Abram Bloch to continue with the activities at the premises of the College of St. Paul Piratininga Tamandaré Street, 596. Carlos Marmo, professor of drawing, completed the quartet, which became known throughout the country in the 50 and 60 thanks to its educational resources.

Under the command of Simon Gabriades and Bloch, the Anglo created the first theoretical issues, the first simulated and the "Anglo Resolve", published with comments and resolutions of issues of major college entrance exams.

The '60s brought the team to the mathematician Cid Guell, who later became Professor of Anglo-symbol for her skill and dedication.

In the 70's, under the coordination of educational Nicholas Marmo, there were important innovations: the Anglo-created the book contract, which would revolutionize the industry of instructional materials has extended its participation, before concentrated in the area of Exact, to the areas of Biological and Humanities, and spread to its first partners for vestibular system of education.

In the early '80s, the Anglo began producing educational material for the then high school, to meet the units financed and opened its second unit in São Paulo, Rua Sergipe.

The third unit would be opened on Avenida João Dias in the following decade, when the Anglo would also give the step that was needed to supplement the care provided to partners, started to produce material for elementary school and kindergarten.

The Anglo enters the third millennium with partner schools across the country, linking the experience of the brilliant teachers who participated in it to the talent of their successors and those who are coming, completely in tune with the new guidelines of the MEC.

Time is a valuable commodity especially when you are preparing for the exam. So use it wisely and avoid surrender to the swirl of information and misinformation that the Internet offers on the subject.

Good preparation is coupled with a good orientation. In this section you will find some guidelines given by the study of Anglo supervisors.
