As the historian Joseph Alexius Brother, to accomplish this goal, the Municipality of Sorocaba transferred to the Foundation the building called "Mansion of Vergueiro" with its ground, but also the Law School of Sorocaba, established by the Municipal Law No. 424 of 16 April 1956, with its furniture, fixtures and rents. Its statutes were approved by the public prosecutor in the county and duly registered with the Registry of Deeds and Documents. ²
The Sorocabana Educational Foundation is run by a Board, composed, according to its statutes, by the Mayor and the Mayor who are in office, members of the Organizing Committee of the Faculty (now replaced sorocabana members from the community, as statutory provision ) and teachers who were in office at the College in 1958 (replaced by representatives of teachers currently in office, as well as statutory provision).
This is a balanced composition, which combines the two highest municipal authorities, community representatives and representatives of teachers sorocabana, which are usually chosen from among the oldest and most experienced.
According to its statutes, throughout its history the Foundation has provided scholarships to needy students, thus contributing to the social inclusion of disadvantaged sections of Sorocaba and region.
