First college of journalism in Brazil, Casper Libero College was established in 1947 as part of the testament of the lawyer, journalist and businessman Casper Libero. Subsequently, the institution has expanded its presence in the teaching of Media, also going to offer qualifications in Advertising, Public Relations, Radio and TV. The School Casper Libero also develops programs for graduate and masters level specialization, maintains an interdisciplinary center for research and promotes the achievement of free courses and university extension.

The course of the School of Journalism Casper Libero has the educational performance of professionals with solid academic background and extensive experience in the market. The Library José Geraldo Vieira, Faculty of Casper Libero, began operations in 1948, one year after the inauguration of the School of Journalism. Installed in an area of 625 m², the Library has a collection of 48,000 books, 500 periodicals, 3,800 movies and several databases online and on CD-ROM, maintaining a Documentation and Research Centre where they are concentrated in the sector newspaper archive, the collection of audiovisual, a collection of historical newspapers and other rare materials.
