In 1965, Dean Arthur Sá Earp Neto, accompanied by a group of idealistic doctors, established the Foundation Octacílio Gualberto, in order to create and maintain the Faculty of Medicine of Petropolis. This, in his years of continuous activity, has graduated doctors who stands out for its solid, wherever they exercise their professional activities.

In 1998, continuing the project's founder created the Foundation College Arthur Sá Earp Neto - PHASE, thus paying homage to him who was the creator of degree courses in Petropolis.

Today, PHASE offers the following courses: Nutrition, Business Administration with emphasis in Management Information Systems, Hospital Management and Marketing (still in development), and Nursing, Bachelors Degree in modalities.

All our courses have highly qualified faculty and adequate infrastructure, both for the teaching of basic sciences and professional programs. Their projects provide educational interaction between the various courses aimed at training professionals with global vision, ability to work in multidisciplinary team, aware of social needs and suited to the job market.

In addition to offering undergraduate teaching excellence, the Foundation also maintains Octacílio Gualberto graduate programs in the areas of their courses such as Medical Residency Programs, courses of specialization in Human Nutrition and Health Education, among others.

Affirming its commitment to the community, the Foundation Octacílio Gualberto deployed and ensures the operation of various health units, and thus can provide variety of scenarios for teaching and professional practice. The School Clinic, the Care and Family Health Service DIP (Infectious and Parasitic Diseases) are integrated into public health network, providing services completely free to the public.
The latest conquest of FOG is the new campus of the FMP / FASE. Opened in August 2007, was built in an area of 85,000 sqm and is situated in the historical center of Petropolis. The campus has the most modern and adequate physical facilities and technological resources, being fully integrated into the Atlantic
