Universidad Autonoma "Tomas Frias" is an institution of higher education which is in clear progress towards university accreditation allows professionals to educate not only intellectual knowledge, but also able to provide solutions to environmental problems, so that competition and new professionals competetividad optimal, comprising a broad sense of fairness and balance in the distribution of wealth in the country, they are also professionals in the Tomas Frias, are formed in a spirit of positivity, tolerance, and ethical treatment their peers.

1. FOUNDATION

The operation of the Free Faculty of Law from the year 1876, subject to Cancelariato of Chuquisaca, is the first step for the birth of the UATF. Potosina University officially born by Act Oct. 15, 1892,

2. AUTONOMY

By Decree - Law of 8 October 1937 recognizes the autonomy to university district of Potosi, the first Rector Dr. Alberto Saavedra Autonomista Nogales.

3. PRINCIPLES

Section 1. The University "Tomas Frias" recovered its status as National University, Scientific, Democratic People's is an institution of public law which operates legally in accordance with the provisions of this Statute under the Autonomy University proclaimed by the State Constitution and other laws consistent.

Section 2. The University Autonomy historical and revolutionary conquest of our people, is broad and unrestricted organizational and institutional practice of the following fundamental principles: economic autarky and administrative, academic autonomy, co-government student peer teaching, internal democracy, ideological pluralism , academic freedom and democratization of higher education.

The Universidad Autónoma "Tomas Frias" in the exercise of autonomy is an integral part of the Bolivian University, which will coordinate its purposes and functions by the Constitution of the Bolivian University.

Section 3. The economic self-sufficiency and administrative, is self-perception and available economic and financial resources of the University as well as the lawful appointment of its officers and staff subject to the standards set by the relevant Regulations without interference or interference from any force individual problems.

Article 4. Article 9. 4. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES.

Article 10. The University "Tomas Frias" in its scientific and cultural to do, is identified with the interests of the popular sectors to join them in the struggle for national liberation.

Article 11. Form skilled professionals with critical and creative consciousness according to the developmental needs of sovereign independence.

Article 12. Its activity is aimed at scientific, technological, cultural and social development of the population in all social classes. Its mission is therefore growing, teachings, research and dissemination of science and technology, arts and letters.

Article 13. Deepens wide popularization and democratization of the teaching, by the free admission of workers and peasants in their classrooms, no other requirement than their ability and vocational aptitude.

Article 14. The University will contribute to the creation of a national consciousness, from knowledge about the reality of dependence, oppression and exploitation of the country, from the perspective of integration and national self-determination within the context of Latin American and global of the people who fight for fairer society and respect for human rights.

5. VISION

The Universidad Autónoma "Tomas Frias"

It has a system of government, academic and administration in accordance with its principles, which guarantee the organized participation of its estates, efficiency and effectiveness, technological innovation with social relevance.
Offers competitive and quality alternatives in higher education, to vocational and continuing education for all who wish to pursue their higher education through a constant improvement and innovation of curricula, courses, academies, institutes, academic programs and programs vocational, undergraduate and postgraduate.

6. MISSION

The Universidad Autónoma "Tomas Frias" to fulfill his vision, is bound to:

Train professionals of excellence, critical awareness, social and humanistic creative and competitive, with capacity for technical and social transformation of the scope of their own profession.
Participate actively in the processes of integration and internationalization of higher education, contributing to and leveraging opportunities for mutual cooperation and development, that will bring the institution to the demands of the universal development of education.
Sustaining leadership in higher education department, adapting dynamically to changing context, strengthening university autonomy and co-governance, continuously modernizing its structures and processes.
Provide technical training facilities and professional quality, regardless of sex, age, religion or race, to develop creative skills, competitive, ethical and patriotic values of students, whose skills are geared to become agents departmental and national development.

7. POLICIES

University policies have the source to the Constitution of the Bolivian University and the University, as well as the resolutions emanating from the various organs of the Bolivian University and UATF, which guide all academic activity. The gestation process of the university policies come mainly from the academic units and Student Co-teaching government, whose consensus process allows the organs such as the Academic Committee and the Honorable University Council approved and are the reference regulator of all activities academic and administrative. Planning policy and programming operations, according to the objectives, strategies, procedures, tools and responsibilities of both planning and scheduling of operations, whose implementation is mandatory for all academic units.
