Historical Review

Our University, began a process of university reform support from IESALC / UNESCO Pilot Plan of Action 2000-2004 for Change and Transformation University "Juan Misael Saracho. The declaration seeks UAJMS that is formed in a model of the regional University, the Latin American level, within the framework of the World Declaration on Higher Education in the XXI Century.

The Universidad Autónoma "Juan Misael Saracho" in Tarija, Bolivia, is created a June 6, 1946 with two faculties: The Law and Social Sciences and Humanities and Sciences of Education, although this last term was a short-lived .

In November 1946, adopting its first Statute and the legal status is conferred by the Ministry of Education, Arts and Indigenous Affairs.

Their gradual penetration to regional scenario, has consolidated its institutional character building schools, libraries, consultations and services to the community in the cultural and social level, through print, radio and television university .

Since several decades, the growth of the University went beyond the limits of the capital, opening schools and careers in Yacuiba, Villamontes and Bermejo, meeting the needs of higher education at the Department level.
