Industrial development led by the State in the 60's was a thriving flower productive force, and so the city of San Nicolás de los Arroyos, home of the National Organization, was born huge steel mills, chemical, alcohol, energy and so producing the effect of human resource requirements mentioned, being a group of entities characterized intermediate and city residents who began to manage the creation of a higher education institution to cover.

These concerns are reflected in the hand of an illustrious neighbor, Dr. Ricardo Fernandez Irujo, then National Deputy, who is the author of Act No. 15,997, enacted on October 30, 1961, which created the so-called Northern School of the Province of Buenos Aires, today proudly Regional School San Nicolas.

It was the early sixties and were needed metallurgical engineers, mechanical and electrical. Hopeful students, workers and technicians and teachers with vocation ambitions were together creating much-needed professionals, but, even more were planted on virgin soil the concept of university community.

At that time, the goals were simple: the graduation of the first engineers and construction of the building itself. Today turned into the pursuit of academic excellence, the generation of knowledge through research, close ties with the productive sectors and services, continuing education and specialization of its own graduates, all in comfortable housing facilities seeking and functionally, the members of the university community and social, that in an open and participatory management, innovation and reform from becoming permanent desire for change, effective and consistent.

The beginning was in the classrooms of E.N.E.T. No. 1 and No. 6 School St. Nicholas, to find now on the banks of the River Paraná, lion-colored river as the poet immortalized in our own building on a site donated by the National Ports Administration.

University History

The origin of the National Technological University (NTU) is related to the political-economic situation the country was in the late 40 .- After the second world war, the University moves toward a crowded system of higher education. The enactment of new laws in 1947 and 1954 postulated the University closer to the social phenomenon .- In the economic domain, caused by accumulation of foreign exchange, and the need for planning activities aimed at consolidating and expanding domestic industry, it became necessary to develop human resources to respond to the new economic reality of Argentina .-

Industrial development experienced by the country at that time led to increased demand for workers, craftsmen, technicians and engineers, traditional practitioners were not prepared to cover .- In this framework, organized in 1946 the National Commission on Learning Professional Advice (CNAOP) that cover calls Factories and Schools in 1948 establishing the National Labor College (u or n), which aimed at training engineers factory .- The house of studies that depended on the said commission has its origin in Law No. 13,229 and only on October 14, 1959 was enacted Law No. 14,855 of which officially gives autarky and was renamed the National Technological University .- The NTU National University was the ninth existed at that time, preceded by that of Cordoba, Buenos Aires, La Plata, Tucumán, Coastline, Cuyo, Northeast and South .- In Cordoba courses began to be issued on March 15, 1953 and unlike few days did the powers of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, Rosario and Mendoza .- Thus, in the National Technological University status is defined as "an institution of higher education with the specific mission to create, preserve and transmit technical and universal culture in the field of technology ".-

Objectives U.T.N.

Since its conception is aimed at contributing to the country's needs and intended for full development of productive forces. The purpose of this University are:

- To prepare professionals in the field of technology to meet the requirements for the industry without neglecting the cultural and humanistic training that make them suitable to deal with a management level within the company and society, creating a spirit of social solidarity.
- Promote and facilitate research, study and experiences needed for technological upgrading and development, advising within the scope of its jurisdiction to public authorities and private companies in the organization, management, development and production of domestic industry.
- Establish close liaison with technical and cultural institutions, domestic and foreign.

Technological Engineer Profile

Technology Engineer is formed in the development of four basic skills: creativity, evaluation, multidisciplinary communication and social responsibility. These capabilities will serve to perform well in offices where the production is projected in manufacturing facilities that make industrial series, in laboratories where it is tested, as well as in the areas of service, production support, education and commercial.

We conclude therefore that the technology engineer in addition to meeting the needs of industry within the scope of its region, facilitates and conducts research, studies and experiences that mean the same technological advancement. At the same time the National Technological University as a full professional, cultural and humanistic, able to deal with a flat top level within the industry and society.

National Technological University is privileged over the rest of Argentine universities have distributed thirty locations throughout the country .-
