The IUA, an agency of the Air Force Argentina, was created with the name of the Aeronautical Engineering School of December 13, 1947, joining the National University System in 1971 (Decree No. 3179/71)
Its present name was adopted by Resolution No. 3 / 93 of the Ministry of Culture and Education, which is categorized as a University Institute of Law 24,521 and includes all National University Institutions.
The purpose of the IUA is to provide university education, conduct scientific research and technological and cultural extension activities and technology transfer in order to help fulfill the mission of the FAA, in full compliance with the nation's aerospace interests.
The incorporation of the Distance Education in 1987, gives a new profile to bring the university to the most remote places throughout Argentina.
In 1996, puts in the microsatellite orbit μsat I "Victor", the fruit of long years of aerospace research, which integrates the privileged group of universities in the world that has achieved this scientific achievement.
Thus from the level of excellence achieved by its history, the Institute was able to become a cornerstone of the past, present and future of Córdoba and the country.
