Between 1920 and 1955, college life in the Northeast was constituted by the operation of Schools, Careers and institutes set up by the Universidad Nacional del Litoral and Tucumán and subordinate to them.

Among the faculties that formed it was the UNL College of Agriculture, Livestock and related industries based in the city of Corrientes. There emerged, as the initiative of a group of teachers and meeting the needs of medium-National Teachers Institute, whose operation was authorized by the Rector of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral on June 6, 1951.

On 30 April 1951 issued at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral Resolution No. 262 authorizing the Department of Economics, Business and Policy created in the city of Resistencia a division of first year degree in Accounting and Expert splitter. It arose in response to the request that the Governor of the National Territory of Chaco, giving effect to the concerns of the then Director of the National School of Commerce, raised resistance to the Ministry of National Education.

School of Medicine was established in Corrientes, March 5, 1953 by Resolution No. 79 of the Rector of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, ad referendum of the University Council, which was confirmed by Resolution No. 234 of March 24 of that year, as attached to the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Pharmacy and the University Children Ramos mentioned.

In 1937, at the initiative of the Rector of the Universidad Nacional de Tucuman, in the house decided to create a body of research devoted to studying different aspects of reality in the northern region of the country, which included health. That agency, created on November 6, 1937, was named Regional Research Department and included six agencies with similar purposes, one being the Institute of Regional Medicine, established by Resolution No. 315/73 of December 7, 1937. In 1954 it was resolved by Resolution No. 1221/226/954, moving the headquarters of the Instituto de Medicina Regional Resistance to the city.

On April 2, 1955 created the School of Law, under the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, operated in the city of Corrientes.

With the provincialization national territories, had grown a desire to create a university in the region. The increase in secondary enrollment and the creation of many institutions at this level, became more urgent the need for teachers and the demand for higher education which prevent the migration of youth to other facilities.

Around half of the twentieth century, responding primarily to the anonymous force concerted each provincial communities involved, there is the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste, the December 14, 1956 by Decree Law No. 22,229.
