Universidad Nacional de LujŠn
LujŠn, Argentina

University description (as per official university website)

The National University of LujŠn is intended to produce knowledge, transfer and bond with the company trying to provide solutions to the problems besetting it and at the same time, seeking the full development of the individual are the goals that characterize the work of a university. In the specific case of the National University of LujŠn, who shaped the idea of what should be and that allowed its founding by Law 20,031 of December 20, 1972, conceived of a modern university with departmental structure, regional centers and linked in research and extension work to the region from which it draws and aims to serve.

Surely, and its particular history, this university is felt by society as a conquest. Its closure, which occurred in 1980 during a dark period of the Argentine past, was repaired in an act of strict justice to the enactment of Law 23,044, which ordered its reopening, which occurred on July 30, 1984, and restoration of democracy in our country. Since then he has consolidated his image so that, year after year, several thousand young people choose to start college UNLu any of its degree programs.

This House is intended that students achieve a strong academic background, leading to this level of excellence in teaching and research professionals who are entrusted with this important mission. Also, to understand that the University is an area where they develop the foundations for future leadership in Argentina, we guarantee to students through their participation in the governing bodies of the House, a consolidated democratic education. His tenure in the classroom enables them to join in a process that tends to a productive and social transformation, promoting the international integration of a growing country and promoting equity through education.

The sense of belonging of students, graduates and support staff, the quality of its teaching staff, the existence of a large number of investigations that address problematic situations in the region and the growing links with other institutions of higher education and foreign nationals are indicators of potential in this young university, which is also yours. Through these pages we begin to share.

The UNLu line is located in north and west of the province of Buenos Aires. For the fulfillment of their activities has LujŠn Headquarters and three regional centers in the cities of Bell, San Miguel and Chivilcoy. Also develops activities in the Federal Capital Headquarters, at the National Institute of Physical Education "General Manuel Belgrano" in San Fernando and various delegations which dictate specific courses.

Regional Centers are born from the goal of bringing large segments of the population offer quality university, which favors regional needs and demands and the form of decentralized management. The three Regional Centres were founded during the administration of Dr. Mignone, a matter of seconds Rector controller, through agreements with the respective municipalities. Fulfilled, then, an important political function of education, and that served to satisfy some of the claims made by many people in the region. They operated as "inlets", helping to strengthen the foundation of the University, through an influx of students.

Currently, these centers are an integral part thereof, which accompanies growth in harmony to the whole university. The overall coordination is carried out by the Department of Academic Affairs, and each a Director and Deputy Director are responsible for academic coordination, which is executed by the Departments of the University.

Regional vocation UNLu evidenced from this mechanism, which lets you get to large segments of students residing in its area of influence, who may spend part of their careers or all of them, as appropriate, in one of its three regional centers.

Missions, Goals and Objectives
The UNLu been achieved in these 34 years, to consolidate an institutional profile based on a pluralistic conception of university life was founded on the principles of democracy and free expression. This leads to the reaffirmation of the University Autonomy and Independence ideological institution.

Consensus and active participation of the entire university community is thus the necessary framework to carry out their specific missions, the academia, research and extension. It is in these missions where UNLu upholds the principles of ownership and relevance of university activity.

Membership considered in terms of our role and place in society, linking us with the different social actors, in response to an increasingly rich regional integration and noting the goal of human development.

Institutional relevance achievable through a search of the quality required, a concept in which we included the quality of teachers, graduate students and support staff, as well as each of the actions we undertake.
