National University of Entre Ríos, created by Law No. 20,366, May 1973, arises as a crystallization of the efforts made by different sectors of the community for half a century entrerriana.
Since then the National University of Entre Rios has been growing steadily and becoming established in its educational and scientific work, with constant input from their teachers, researchers, students, not teachers and society that gives all its support and sustains it.
This growth is specified in the creation of new academic units, the transformation of existing schools and faculties, the opening of new undergraduate and postgraduate in response to needs felt by the community entrerriana, the constant growth of students, the effort in encouraging research and openness to new ways of disseminating science and culture.
On April 26, 1986 is a historic day at the National University of Entre Rios, as it takes place in the city of Concepción del Uruguay, the first University Assembly. From there comes the first President elected through the vote. Will be such an honor to the then Rector Normalizer, Dr. Eduardo Alberto Barbagelata.
Since then the University is governed by democratically elected authorities, through their governing bodies formed with representatives from the various bodies that comprise it. The University Assembly in 2002, appointed Eduardo Asueta Cr rectory for the period: 2002 - 2005.
The presence of the National University of Entre Rios in the provincial territory with its decentralized formation, apart from national universities, which bring together all its activities in the same town. This circumstance makes up 300 km distance between academic units and a complete tour of 800 kilometers.
The Rectory is located in the city of Concepción del Uruguay and Academic Units in the cities of Paraná, Concepción del Uruguay, Oro Verde, Gualeguaychú, Concordia and Villaguay. National University of Entre Ríos can be considered a young university with 33 years of institutional life. Its creation was in 1973 by Decree Law No. 20,366, under a policy of regionalization and decentralization of the national university system.
With the advent of democracy U.N.E.R. became an open and pluralistic through a policy oriented towards academic excellence.
In 1983 there were 8 undergraduate programs across the university and just over 2,000 students.
