Promote research, development in the UCEL.

La Universidad del Centro Educativo Latinoamericano, UCEL, was created in 1993 in the midst of a civil association without profit. Evangelical Methodist institution with a solid and proven track record, whose history goes back nearly 150 years ago, when two American educators arrived in the country to work with the educational enterprise of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento.

The story was started by two young people continued by identical ethical and educational reasons, whose hard work over the years generated new projects and enabled the expansion of its facilities incorporating different levels of education.

In July 2007, the final rating awarded by the Ministry of Education of Argentina UCEL confirmed as the only institution in the city and the region to have all educational levels capping a long history of commitment, growth and educational tradition.

The Methodist movement, led by John Wesley, had its beginnings in the university of Oxford in the eighteenth century, guided by faith in Jesus Christ, according to the biblical witness and evangelical practice of the Protestant Reformation, seeking to unite faith and reason, with a clear social commitment for common action for the welfare of all and a broad ecumenical vision and openness, to meet the challenges of the new "industrial society" that was announced in this century. This emphasis on the importance of education was evident since the founding of the school and college Latin American Educational Center in 1875, within which our University was established.

In this sense, is a community UCEL confessor, with a long tradition of openness and dialogue with the secular and pluralistic society, we want to keep alive a spirit of freedom and personal choice, supported by dialogue and common action. UCEL does not require its students, faculty and staff determined no confession, nor is it intended to impose. There is no purpose in any discrimination on grounds of sex, race, religion or thought. UCEL conforms well with their own social principles of the Evangelical Methodist Church Argentina and the common principles of our nation, expressed in the Constitution and international treaties it entered
