The University of CEMA is a nonprofit organization whose beginnings date from 1978. Offers seven undergraduate programs, nine graduate programs and offers a large selection of executive education programs. UCEMA currently has a faculty of 183 professors, 4123 students and 1179 graduates.


Developing leaders for business, politics and academia, through original research that advances knowledge, transmitting it by methods of high quality teaching.

The University pursues its mission through the following actions:

a) Undertake research tasks that contribute to the development of science, technology and human culture. The Fund for the Promotion of Research supports the research work at the University, awarded by the publications that are made in top international journals and promoting the participation of teachers in international conferences.

b) Provide students with a comprehensive scientific and professional training in the fields of business, applied economics, economic policy, finance, politics and engineering within a humanistic and liberal education.

c) The development of critical thinking and thoughtful students, as well as prepare them to undertake professional with a wealth of theories and methods. The ability and professional responsibility, of course, do not exclude the ethical and social sensitivity.

d) Getting closer to the community by providing scientific and technical assistance to governments, academia and the business world.

e) Contribute to the creation and communication of knowledge, learning and culture. With this spirit has been created and distributed worldwide on Journal of Applied Economics and Management journals and Analysis Issues. Our research over 26 years was reflected in 246 Working Papers in June 2004 are in the top 2% of the most visited in the world according LogEc -entity that collects the access to virtual libraries on the Web.


The CEMA, Center for Macroeconomic Studies of Argentina, began operations in 1978 as a small research and teaching center, with the aim of contributing to the dissemination of knowledge, especially of many modern economic theories. In 1980 began the dictation of the Master in Economics and, later, it began offering the Graduate Program in Management. Over the years the teaching activities gradually extended to other professional fields.

The University of CEMA was born in 1995 and began his academic with the issuance of the Master in Economics. The CEMA University provided the necessary human capital to meet a challenge of this magnitude and nature, for the university project brought together leading academics of their experience abroad and made in the CEMA work of teaching and research. Undergraduate courses, which began to be issued in 1996 were in the areas of Finance, Economics and Management.

In 1997, with the creation of the Department of Political Science, progress was made in achieving the intended purpose in the initial institutional project, which includes the economy and politics as inseparable parts of a social whole.

In 1999 graduated the first graduates of the BA in Economics and Bachelor of Business Management. They also began to be issued a Masters in Finance, Masters in Business Administration, Masters in Banking Management and Master of Agribusiness.

In 2000 the University of CEMA and the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA) started the Masters in Project Evaluation. From that year implemented a Ph.D. in Economics.

In 2001, the Department of Political Science began offering the Master of Science of the State and completed the joint offering of graduate degree in this discipline. Following the ideas outlined in the institutional project were created Doctorate in Business and in 2002 a Ph.D. in Finance.

Later, he created the Department of Engineering with the curricular offerings in Computer Engineering, which began to be issued in March 2004. In 2007 he opened his career in public accounting, and from 2009, the Bachelor of Marketing and a BA in International Relations.

During all these years, the University of CEMA maintained steady growth and reached the goals set at the beginning, both institutional and academic. The University continues to grow and develop, always with the mission to contribute to advancing knowledge and transmit it through education of the highest quality.
