50 years ago a group of lay people, professionals, lay Catholics, Bishop went to the bishop of Córdoba asking Castellanos, presenting the need of founding a Catholic University. Monsignor Bishop Cunningham asked the Jesuits, the Society of Jesus, to send Jesuits to found the University.

Hence if the first steps of the Catholic University in Cordoba, who is now 50 years.

University despite his title of Catholic, not a University or exclusive or exclusive to Catholics, but a university open to students and teachers from various denominations, just that these students and teachers want to be part of this educational project.

The University has three campuses, one in the center on Calle Obispo Trejo in which they operate the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities, and the ICDA (Institute of Management Sciences.)

General Paz in the neighborhood is the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital Queen Fabiola and 7 units Campus academic work.

Infrastructure, content and exchange

The Catholic University of Cordoba and University of the Society of Jesus belongs to AUSJAL, Association of Jesuit Universities of Latin America, which consists of more than 26 universities in Latin America who are in charge of the Society of Jesus. It is also part of a network of universities which are partners under the international exchange network, ISEP, which brings in more than 95 universities and facilitate exchanges of students who go to our universities in Europe, North America and Asia.

Year after year our students have access to these exchanges, and students from abroad come and spend part of his career here at our university.

Mission training and responsibility

The training has not closed in the academic offerings. From the Vice President for Middle College will offer certain activities have on the education of our students, such as sports training, provides an art space that gives the opportunity to participate in writing workshops and poetry, and drama workshops opportunity to learn all kinds of dance.
